In this case I don't think you even need to engage in critical thinking of the degree necessary to examine the historical evidence of Moses as a "real" individual, even if such evidence IS non existant.

For this you only have to get as critical as high school chemistry.

Agreed, but every angle screams out it's absudity.

Ok Snow..I appreciate your comments and views on the above...just thought it might be an interesting subject to bring into the discussions...good to hear other people's points of view...:)

Sure, you’re right. Let’s get some additional opinions. How about Cal? Cal is unbiased. He and I usually disagree so he won’t typically agree with me unless I am undeniably correct.

Cal,

Is there or could there be a remanufactured element called “white powder” or “Orbitally Rearranged Monatomic Elements” that Moses smelted out of volcanic ash to make manna[/a], that is found in crop circles, was part of Jason, the Argonauts and the Golden Fleece not to mention the Ark of the Covenant and whose benefits include but are not limited to the following:

-Restoration of Youth and Vitality

-Opening of the Third Eye

-Cures fungus and yeast infections

-Opens the Gateway to the Next Dimension

-Increases your sex drive

-Allows for the Instant Manifestation of Thought

-Lifts the Veil from Prior Lives

-Makes your hair and nails stronger and prettier

-Offers Extraordinary Knowingness

-Enables Levitation, defying gravity

-Enables Ascension,

-Gives you soft creamy skin that resists bruising

-Is a superconductor

-Removes facial wrinkles

-Cures methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus

-Balances the left brain with the right brain

-Stimulates the 6th sense

-Develops a halo around your body

---and accelerates serendiptiy

Oh, and did I mention that this white powder is sold for $60 in homeopathic form such that the powder is so diluted in water and alcohol that it cannot not be detected or measured?

So, Cal, or anybody else... whaddaya think?

Yeah, it's called cocaine! ! heh heh heh

. . . . she don't lie, she don't lie, she don't lie. . . . . .cocaaaaiiiiinnnnneeeeee. . . . .

Thanks Bizabra...my friend and I chuckled a few times, considering it might be the white powder of Heroin too!!! There are more facts about it's existence, but I must admit I haven't delved that far yet, online or otherwise, to show you the links, as to it's powers, perhaps they worked in it's pure state many centuries ago, when ingested, but diluted I agree it would be barely of any use at all...if any.

If anyone wants to search out any more links to this, as the powder was said to have been discovered on a farmer's land in the USA and high above the Mount on which Moses received the Ten Commandments, in a newly discovered Egyptian temple, and was supposedly referred to as 'bread', although given different names by Egyptians and Jews, (not Manna, btw), and was supposedly fed to the Pharoas in conical shaped 'loaves'...perhaps you could post something else here about it...when I have less to do next week, I will try researching it a little better...:)

...It's just that this kind of nonsense is that about which the phrases "there's a sucker born every minute" and "a fool and his money are soon parted were meant to apply.

It is a sad note that in this day and age when so much true and honest information is so readily available that there are people so poorly educated in critical thinking skills and so ignorant of real science that this kind of idiocy can gain a following....

The same could be said from those people (like me) that find it difficult to understand why there are those who believe in the JS story (as how the LDS church tells it).

M.

Really?

The JS story is no more fantastic than that of Job or Noah or Moses or Christ, or Paul, or Mohammed or the Buddha. In other words, it is part religious belief system based on faith, ethics, philosphy, morality etc.

To compare belief systems of the world's great religions to a chemically undetectable powder suspended in alcohol and water that promises shinier hair and anti-gravitation for $60 and ounce is, um, well, thick-headed at best. Need I explain why?

Maureen, yoiu typically don't make such cloddish posts. What's up?

I wasn't comparing this white powder to the JS story; I was just using your wording in a general way to say that the same could be said about people who believe in the JS story (LDS version).

And I also owed you a rebuttal post, so that was it. ;)

So far, I've agreed with everything you've said about this top, except I think you might have failed to mention alchemy and colloidial silver.

But....I have to warn you right now not to get me started on homeopathy, the ultimate fraud. I am continually amazed (amused) at the caliber of people I actually interact with IRL who actually buy this, um, snake oil.

And, after you don't get me started on homeopathy in general, please don't get me started on nosodes and the anti-vaccination movement.

PS- I think Pushka is being very gracious and I'd personally rather this not regress into some kind of "bash Pushka" thing, even if you are da boss.

You know, the herbs saved my life, where the medications the doctors gave me, nearly killed me, and would have killed me (cause they couldn't even diagnois what they had caused me to have) if it weren't for the homeopathic knowsomethings who gave me the correct diagnoisis and treatment!!!! I'd be dead!

Doctors and medicines kill ten thousand people a day. You can't say that herbs or homeopathic people do that much damage. The courts are full of malpractive against doctors, so much so that they are going out of business or seeking to outlaw law suits, replacing them with arbitration.

So yak on .... I'm not listening.

It's not slamming your church Amillia. It's my opinion on how I view the story of JS. I don't buy the glorified way the LDS church tells the story. People are not two dimentional characters where everything is either black or white. I think JS's story is more complex and more interesting than how the LDS church tells it.

You sure have a problem with other posters sharing their opinions, don't you Amillia? Maybe you should take a good look at who is acting bitter.

You could turn it on me, but it is interesting that you seem to have a fixation on us believing in JS.

I don't feel the need. (Just for the record ~ I know/KNOW JS was a prophet, no believing need about it! just fact)

Why do you feel the need to make up stuff?

What am I making up? It was just a simple question.

Feeling a little onary? (Just a joke for those Utahn's. I'm not saying that you're a Utahn Amillia, since I don't know where you live - but I'm getting the impression you are not at your happiest.)

You're not just a little bit prejudice, but way beyond.

I am beginning to think you have a delusion of grandure.

Just to bring this thread back to it's original topic, and at the risk of more ridicule...I just thought I'd post a link from an ebook, which can be purchased for $4.

This website gives quite a long excerpt from the book, and it is quite interesting...

I still do not know if I believe in the properties of the powder, but I do believe that it has been found in places and that NASA is investigating its uses, and at least 1 electrical co. in the USA is using it.

Ridicule. Come now - what ridicule.

Thanks for the link. I have now learned that white powder can also:

Correct DNA

Help you live to 900 years

Solve the energy crisis

and cure cancer.

What reasonable, educated person would believe that?

Tell me Puska, besides the disreputable internet sources, are you aware of a single shred of evidence that white powder can do any of the things these scurrilous websites purport it can? Things like increasing serendipity and helping you to remember prior lives, not to mention getting your groove on?

Seriously - any real evidence whatsoever?

Help me out Pushka,

You admit that you know of absolutely no evidence to stop the claims. You know that some of the claims are obviously false (anti-gravitational and opens up parallel dimesions) and that some claims are so silly that they are stupid (increases serendipity) and yet you think that there might be something to it?

What's up with that?

Snow...You say that I KNOW that some of the claims are false and that others are SO SILLY THAT THEY ARE STUPID...I don't claim that at all...I say that I have no other evidence than that which I have presented so far, and that I am willing to investigate that evidence with an open mind...perhaps I wil learn in the future that some of it is false and stupid, perhaps I and the rest of us wil learn that it is not...who knows? Some of the things that we thought were silly/stupid and false 50 years ago concerning the universe have been proved to be nothing of the sort...

Again, Pushka,

What evidence? Do you know of a single solitary piece of evidence that supports anything whatsoever re whitegold?
