I need some feedback on the More Good Foundation Home Page website and have started a new post to be more specific as Joel requested. Please visit the More Good Foundation Home Page site and then answer the following questions:

1 - When you first visited the page what was the first thing you noticed?

2 - What do you believe the purpose of the More Good Foundation is?

3 - What is the first link from the home page you clicked on?

4 - What is the most interesting part of the home page?

5 - What do you think the More Good Foundation does?

6 - Did the menu of items on the home page make sense to you?

7 - Approximately how many pages did you browse during this visit?

8 - How would you rate yourself as an Internet user? (Beginner, Intermediate, Expert)

1. The Christus

2. To provide online avenues to further the gospel and to help build testimonies.

3. The lds.net link..okay not really. Actually it was the link about adopting a site.

4. It was interesting to see just how many websites MGF owns and operates.

5. Provides websites where investigators can answer questions, people can network and socialize in a wholesome environment.

6. Made perfect sense to me

7. 6-7

8. intermediate to expert

1. The links to the websites in the bottom middle. The Flash promo area didn't load until much later - this is on a 10mbit connection and a fast computer.

2. Promoting Mormonism. (people generally look top left first and "mormon" is prominent see: F-Shaped Pattern For Reading Web Content (Jakob Nielsen's Alertbox))

3. "Visit our websites". Since my user profile is of an active LDS member the results from non-members surely would be different. (you can generally classify site visitors into various profile aka persona such as "non-member from search engine referral" vs "member linked from existing MGF site)

4. For me it was the other sites in the network as my primary focus but then "how we are helping" was interesting as well. (breaking the usability pattern from #2 above but hey, I'm different. :)

5. Promotes Mormonism. However, the relationship between it and the church itself isn't very clear. The disclaimer is tucked away. (Back to point #2 :))

6. The primary navigation at the top wasn't as strong as the main content. Perhaps this can be more balanced in terms of size of the links.

7. 2-3 pages.

8. Expert. ;)

1 - When you first visited the page what was the first thing you noticed?

The word Mormon in huge letters and the Jesus statue.

I guess to educate people in their gospel.

3 - What is the first link from the home page you clicked on?

"LDS Newsroom on Facebook and Twitter"

4 - What is the most interesting part of the home page?

That you can adopt web sites...

5 - What do you think the More Good Foundation does?

No. 2

6 - Did the menu of items on the home page make sense to you?

Like, did I have an idea of where they would take me? Yes.

7 - Approximately how many pages did you browse during this visit?

About three. I didn't really keep track...

8 - How would you rate yourself as an Internet user? (Beginner, Intermediate, Expert)

I would say I am pretty close to an expert. I used to work it professionally (link building and other jobs I will never accept again).

1 - When you first visited the page what was the first thing you noticed?

The blank spot where the Christus/Mormon voices flash thingy eventually appeared. and the big "learn about mormonism and share the gospel" boxes.

2 - What do you believe the purpose of the More Good Foundation is?

to spread the gospel and inform people about the Church, from the members

3 - What is the first link from the home page you clicked on?

Our sites, then about.

4 - What is the most interesting part of the home page?

As a web designer what interests me is the overall layout and design of the page. It's minimalistic, which I love. Minimalistic, meaning that the design of the site is simple and allows the focus to be on the content - and the design doesn't distract from the purpose of the site. Good color scheme too.

5 - What do you think the More Good Foundation does?

More good :) Helps get to good word out about Mormons and our beliefs. Provides a way for members to influence others.

6 - Did the menu of items on the home page make sense to you?

Yes.

7 - Approximately how many pages did you browse during this visit?

Five. and visited some of the "More Good Foundation websites"

8 - How would you rate yourself as an Internet user? (Beginner, Intermediate, Expert)

Expert.
