I grew up in Orange County, California, and this satire piece is not that far off. For some reason the rich people's homes are always in the line of the natural catastrophesa; Mudslides, fires and quakes, oh my!

Yet, undaunted, they rebuild, in the same spot, as if Mother Nature isn't going to notice.

I've never held sympathy for those that build those million dollar homes on the side of a cliff and then whine when heavy rains wash it down the side of the mountain.

I too felt uncomfortable when spending time in a friends home in SanFrancisco on Twin Peeks when dinning and the room had a slight sway due to wind. Needless to say my stay was short before I quickly continued my travels.... Months laster that house did slide too and all was lost. From Ozone.
