rameumptom
It is the atonement of Christ that brings all people back into the presence of God (Alma 11, Mormon 9). It is our righteousness or sinning nature that then determines whether such an event is great or terrible. Alma 12 states that the wicked would wish the rocks would cover them up and hide them from God's glory. Mormon 9 teaches that the wicked would be more comfortable in hell than in God's presence. It will be this experience that will be our first main judgment: do we have the ability to "stand with confidenced in God's presence" (D&C 121) or not? We will judge ourselves, and decide whether we merit remaining in an exalted state in God's presence, or whether we would be more comfortable in a lesser kingdom.
