AngelDust Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 Hi All, Just introducing myself! My name is Stephanie, im 23 & from Scotland. I came across this great site when I was searching the net on info on Momon teachings. I'm actually Catholic by faith & have been all my life. However i feel like i've reached a turning point in my life - my wonderful boyfriend is Mormon. Through listening to things he has told me & seeing how passionate he is about his faith it's really got me curious and eager to learn more about it. I have so many questions inside that im just looking for answers on.. & I hope some of them can be answered here :) So there you go! I hope to get the chance to meet some great people on here :) GB xx Quote
ZionHeart Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 Thanks for joining! I am new to the forum too - and have been a member all my life. You will never regret investigating the church. It is the fullness of the gospel restored to the earth. The more i learn the more i know that :) The best part is you dont have to take my word for it - you can ask God yourself: James 1: 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. Moroni 10:3-5 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts. And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would aask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things. Quote
Maya Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 Hi and welcome... you are lucky to hae a mormon as a boyfrend! All happynes to you two! I hope you can find answers you need here and talk to the missionaries! So officially: Welcome to LDS.net. You will find here an ecclectic mix of LDS and some non-members. While the site is dedicated to the Gospel, and to promoting the Church to a world that often does not understand us, we also make room for conversations about current events, and about social and cultural practices within the Church. If your main desire is to learn about the Church, consider starting with the "Learn About Mormonism" forums. For more advanced teachings, that will often include a variety of perspectives, some non-LDS, consider the Gospel section of forums. While you are welcome to all main sections, be aware this site makes room for a variety of opinions and personalities. Some posters can be passionate about their views, and occasionally more so about them than about the souls of visitors. If you find something particularly offensive, feel free to make a report by clicking the appropriate tab. Quote
Guest mormonmusic Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 Nice to meet you AngelDust! Feel free to ask whatever you need to, to learn about our faith. We are Christians, as a starting point, who try to follow the teachings of Christ and his example as much as we can. I've found this to be a pretty great place to hob nob with other LDS and non-LDS people. I'm a convert to the Church, but have been a pretty active member for about 23 years now....let me know how I can help you! Quote
