ozzy Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 So I couldn't remember if I had submitted a thread to introduce myself or not so I thought I would. And knowing me, I will forget again in a couple of months and do it again. :) I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I believe everything stated in the 13 articles of faith. I am a university student and I very much enjoy gospel discussion. I was actually introduced to this forum in one of my classes. I like to be direct and I will apologize here for how that may make people feel, but I rarely withdraw my statement unless it is actually wrong. Also, I tend to forget things. An example might include which threads I have submitted to. As a result, I may not actually check all of the threads that I submit to to see if there is a reply. If this is the case and you are just dying to see what I have to say to respond to your response to my response, then please let me know on my page with a comment. I love a good joke and hope that as time goes by we can all be friends. Quote
pam Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 So what University are you attending and was it another student that introduced you to this site? I'm always curious how people find out about this site. Quote
ozzy Posted December 4, 2009 Author Report Posted December 4, 2009 I am at BYU-Idaho, and actually it was our teacher. It is in my ENG 316 class where we basically are learning to write effectively in various types (grants, proposals, etc.) We looked at this forum to examine effective (and I am hesitant to admit ineffective) ways to argue a point. After reading a few threads, I was hooked. I haven't had this much awesome gospel discussion since my mission a year and a half ago. Sadly my classes get in the way of my fun sometimes though. :) Quote
pam Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Wow I don't know how I feel about our discussions being dissected...as long as you don't tell us which of us were effective and which were ineffective..we're okay. hahahahaha Oh and btw..It's Ricks not BYU-I. It was Ricks when I went there and will always be Ricks. lol Quote
ozzy Posted December 4, 2009 Author Report Posted December 4, 2009 Don't worry, I think that most of the ineffective ones we looked at were banned at some point. :) Quote
john doe Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Ozzy, if you look at the list of threads the ones you have replied to have a funny-looking arrow icon next to them. Quote
ozzy Posted December 4, 2009 Author Report Posted December 4, 2009 Thanks, that'll make my life a lot easier. :) Quote
Maya Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 Hi ozzy. I cant recall if I have already answered one of your intros or not.. so do feel welcome... and if I cannot remember that I have postet this official one to you already 10 times you will get it 11th time So officially: Welcome to LDS.net. You will find here an ecclectic mix of LDS and some non-members. While the site is dedicated to the Gospel, and to promoting the Church to a world that often does not understand us, we also make room for conversations about current events, and about social and cultural practices within the Church. If your main desire is to learn about the Church, consider starting with the "Learn About Mormonism" forums. For more advanced teachings, that will often include a variety of perspectives, some non-LDS, consider the Gospel section of forums. While you are welcome to all main sections, be aware this site makes room for a variety of opinions and personalities. Some posters can be passionate about their views, and occasionally more so about them than about the souls of visitors. If you find something particularly offensive, feel free to make a report by clicking the appropriate tab. Quote
ozzy Posted December 6, 2009 Author Report Posted December 6, 2009 Why thank you. And feel free to send the 12th in a month when I forget that I have already introduced myself again. Quote
