candyprpl Posted January 1, 2010 Author Report Posted January 1, 2010 (edited) Right after the movie 'Valkyrie'(?) came out is when I saw that documentary -- at the time I didn't know of all the other failed plans. Yes, and then the doc 'Hitler's Bodyguard' also talks about these attempts. The plan to bomb the building in which Hitler was holding a strategic meeting only failed to kill Hitler because someone reached down and place the briefcase, holding the explosive to another spot. I understand about agency and I agree, and I also agree with all that said there was good that came out of WWII. A book that I treasure is is 'Man's Search for Meaning' by Viktor E. Frankl -- he took notes while in a prison camp and then wrote the book after release. This book was assigned in my very first Psyche class. Being so new to the gospel I still have a hard time explaining to others -- I guess you'd say, the missionary lessons. How do you explain that God is a loving God and that Satan does not have more power? My husband kind of thinks that these events are God's rath? I just know that when he says that, it kind of makes me cringe a little. People should know how much God loves them and not that He is a punishing God. I'm sorry if I seem really naive -- it's hard to write my thoughts. Thanks for all your replies. Oh and by the way.........HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Edited January 1, 2010 by candyprpl Quote
Moksha Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 (edited) Of course there have to be the Hitler-types of the world. Without them, the alternative would be horrible.LM ???That seems to be carrying the Yin/Yang a bit far, but it is internally consistent with the concept. Perhaps what is needed is less ardent followers of those Hitler-types. Edited January 1, 2010 by Moksha more good stuff Quote
