Maya
"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God." The Finnis tarnaslation points to: "He had Gods shape, but he did not hold his right to be equal him" Do these mean the same? Which is right? Guest tomk
Hi Maya, It means that we have the ability to become like God, since we are literally His children. Not just His creation. We are His children. And, like children, we can become like our parents. We have that potentiality inside of us. Make sense?
Just_A_Guy
Maya, there are English translations of that verse going both ways--see here. (The link will let you choose to read different English translations of the same verse). My take (as a Mormon, obviously) is that the KJV has the most literal translation of that verse; whereas some of the other versions seem to have been translated with an eye to making sure that they agree doctrinally with the translators' interpretations of other portions of the Bible.
