21. Male. Just Baptized. Any Hope For Marriage This Decade?

First of all, I want to make a qualification:

Women in the church are, for the most part, subject to the same foibles as women outside the church.

1) They tend to like pretty-boys, rugged boys, athletic boys. They like good-looking boys. This is simple fact. People like attractive people and women in the church can be as shallow or as deep as women outside the church. Men in the church are the same, as the same 5 women tend to get asked on all the dates.

2) Women like men who have higher 'social proof'. The shy guy in the corner is not earning points. At this, most people will say 'That's not true! My brother/last boyfriend/husband was really shy and we got married'. If you want to know the truth, ask the shy guys in the ward how successful they've been. The vast majority will say they have not been. If you're the one who has self-esteem without being arrogant, you have an advantage.

3) Women judge guys on how they dress. You want to impress, dress well. Some women want the guy who looks like he just stepped out of a hard day of lumberjacking. Some want the guy who stepped off of GQ. Dress for the type of girl you want.

4) Ask girls out. All the time. You'll get shot down. That's okay - It's a part of life. Grow thick skin.

That out of the way, the caveats having been given, I want to say:

If you want to find a girl who is spiritual, who wants someone who is a righteous priesthood holder and who loves you for you, look for the girl who is spiritual, is a righteous daughter of God and loves everyone around her.

If you look for the girl who looks good in a bikini, then your spirituality will bring someone who matches yours. If you can see past the surface to who the girl is underneath and you're looking for the spiritual daughter of God, your spirituality will bring someone who matches yours again.
