If it's your own family file, as long as you want, so long as some distant relative doesn't enter the name in his own family file. But if you hold the slips, the temple won't be doing anything on behalf of the people on those slips.

Do you have the names in hand?

Sounds like you're safe. =D

My grandma recently went through the temple, and my dad decided it would be nice to do my grandfather's work. Turns out my brother had already reserved it... now I guess I'll let them fight it out.

yeah, sounds like you're fine. You can get new slips printed out, but I'm not sure what you need to make that happen. Probably a file from family search. Unfortunately, family history is my weak spot in the Church and I really don't know anything about it.

hi kiley!

if you've lost the main print-out sheet, you can just go back into New Family Search, then click on the Temple Ordinances tab, and select the name(s) you had already printed out again, then hit something like print, etc. it'll state a general advisory like "some names have always been printed. etc etc etc" just go ahead and print the name(s) out again :) i've had to reprint a couple of sheets before, so i know you'll be fine :)

I have searched familysearch.org several times and cannot find the temple ordinances tabs so I can submit my names!!! Is there any more detailed explanation to where to find it?

I couldn't help but laugh over "my grannys safe" :) Among my family its like a race to see who gets to do the names. I have done most of it and have it all reserved. If people have questions they call me :)
