So, what are some of your favorite healthy-ish foods? I find myself getting bored with the usual stuff.

I have recently lost 20 pounds doing Weight Watchers and have about 20 more to go. I don't want to get bored of my food choices and am running out of ideas.

I'll go first though. One of my favorites is a whole what pita filled with deli turkey, spinach leaves, cucumber slices, feta, and a bit of Greek dressing.

I'm also a big fan of cereal dinners, which of course is a big fan of my son... and mine cause it means no cooking!

Probably the thing I cook most is marinated grilled chicken breasts. Slice chicken breasts in half longways so that it soaks up more flavor. Put the chicken in a ziploc bag with olive oil, juice of one lemon, fresh garlic, salt and pepper. Let it marinade for a couple hours, then grill. It's SO good.

First of all, Well Done with your weightloss Shanstress!! That's brilliant news...

Next, I need to lose a large number of pounds too, and now and again I get my 'healthier' head on and start eating more portions of veg and fruit than normal, and reduce the fatty stuff: crisps, peanuts etc. :(

I haven't any fave recipe to share with you, unfortunately, but at the moment I'm having huge cravings for Humous (sp?) which I believe is chickpeas, lemon juice and garlic...I've been having that with Baked Spuds whenever it's been on offer at vegetarian cafes..delicious!! :)

...which is exactly why low-carb doesn't work for me.

I had to find a way to eat that I can stick with forever, and Weight Watchers seems to be the best to me. Trust me, I've tried them all. AND it's the only one my doctor recommends.

Weight loss, I have attempted to lose weight since I was in my teens! Seems like the only way I do lose is when I have gone through a trauma. Like discovering my spouse cheating on me! Not this husband, the one I divorced!

There has been one that really worked for me, but it is a life-style change too. It is The Carbohydrate Addicts Life-Span Program. You create your meals from the list of good foods, and avoid the bad foods. There is almost no canned foods, no diet sodas, no artificial anythings.

My husband has been dieting ~ lost 15 pounds in about 2 months. He is eating no more than 1200 calories a day. He has reduced his carbohydrates too. His diet doesn't work for me. So I am going to go back on the Carb. Addicts program. Means tons of fresh vegetables and fruits, some pasta and breads, and easy on the meats.

For all of you who have gone on diets and have been successful ~ I applaud you all. It is a hard task to stick to, I know!

Way to go Shantress ~ keep up the good work.

Thanks for the kind words!

I think WW works for me because you can have anything you want... there are no foods that are off limits. You just count the points (calculated based on calories, fat, and fiber) of a certain food and adjust for it later if you mess up. For example, if I'm dying for a cheeseburger and fries, I eat the... and just eat cereal for dinner that night.

I've also had to incorporate lots of exercise into my life, and I think that has helped as well. I work out 3 or 4 times a week at Curves, then do a long bike trip with the family on the weekend, and walk around the neighborhood almost nightly.

The challenge that I'm well aware of is sticking to this the rest of my life. I'm determined though.

It's great to lose weight!!!

I also feel that when we are happy it is much easier. :D

I am doing pretty good by taking in one complete meal a day and servral small heathly snacks. Drinking lots of water is a great thing too. I love summer when fresh things taste the very best. Saying no to the wrong food choices gives is our own empowerment. :D

For the first time in a very long time I have been shopping for clothes and they are not just in my classic colors of black, brown, and blue. They are in bright colors and they make me feel much better and look good with my tan. ;)

That's great, SF! What are some of your favorite foods that help you keep the weight off?
