Fiannan Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 And what if the choice were really interesting??? What if you had to choose between Hillary Clinton, Vladimir Putin or Jacques Chirac? Personally, if voting for someone who actually stands for values, is strong and intelligent I would elect Putin as US president anyday over a US liberal fanatic like Hillary or a Euro-weenie western leader like Chirac. Opinions? Agree, disagree...and why? Quote

BenRaines Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 Hmmm, question sounds to me like which is the better tasting apple, an apple, an orange or a banana? Lets hear some other choices. I don't mean that they need to be all US Citizens but how about more selection of varying personalities. Ben Raines Quote
Palerider Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 I would vote for myself as a write in instead of either of those....... Quote

Republican, but progressive, staunch but urban. My personal favorite is a very long shot--Jeb Bush. I lived in FL for four years, and was impressed by his calm, innovative, yet compassionate manner. He might be Bush III, but would march to his own drumbeat, imho. Quote
BenRaines Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 I don't think Jeb will run until 2012 or 2016 depending on how the 2008 election goes. Guliani would be a strong candidate after his response to 9/11. John McCain is also a stong candidate. I think he has a strong moderate following. Ben Raines Quote
Fiannan Posted June 28, 2006 Author Report Posted June 28, 2006 Gulliani stands no chance. Many social-issue conservatives vote Republican on issues that concern the family (abortion, marriage, etc.) and they would either vote Democrat or not at all if a liberal Republican ran. The best ticket for the Republicans would be a McCain/Romney ticket. Quote
sbales Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 Funny Monica.... I think that I would also have to write someone else in. Quote
