I splashed out on a copy of 174 Semiannual Confereance DVD on ebay and was watching parts of it today. I was wondering how do you get to go to conference? Is it by invitation? By ticket allocation? I'm thinking in a couple of years time of maybe taking a holiday in the USA and Salt Lake City/ Utah is one place I will be visiting. I would love to go at conferance time and actually go to conference.

You can ask your bishop to order tickets for you though your stake office.

If you are coming from a country out side the USA the better the tickets.

That’s been my experience. Our first time at conference we ordered by session Saturday both Sunday sessions and Priesthood session. When the tickets arrived I was so excited to see they were on the main floor BUT when we arrived early and asked a usher being our first time were our sets were and she pointed to the section and said “you can sit any were up to that aria” Holy jumping Cow! My husband and I looked at each other knowing the term “Down front” did not describe our feelings that first session.

We were around thirty rows back! :D

I watched my husband as time grow close, the choir started to come in, and the priesthood arrived. He had waited all his life to see the, The Mormon Tabernacle Choir in person. He could hardly contain his tears and I could not watching him.

My tough old army man.

Those that do not have tickets stand in line and are hassled in to fill the empty sets.

We did not have tickets for one of Saturday’s session, we packed lunch and eat on the grass like many others in front of the visitors center. It was wonderful to watch little children spin and dance keeping them self’s entertained. Every session but for priesthood is piped out to temple square for those sitting on the grass in the shadow of the Grate Salt Lake Temple. WOW…………………….

We are going back next spring.

I have never received a ticket to go to conference and I live in the Salt Lake Valley. It seemed that when tickets are allocated to the wards they go to the investigators of the church. I think if you live out of state you have a good chance of getting tickets if you are willing to travel.

Each stake is given so many tickets. At least here in Nevada and in California. It is under the Stake Presidents direction that those tickets are given out. Here in our stake one conference is given to the Bishops to give out or use and the next conference the Stake Presidency gives them out in the stake.

I am sure if traveling a great distance you can call SLC and request tickets. Now that it is held in the conference center a lot more can attend inside the conference center. If at all possible get a ticket to the Priesthood session, if male, it is an awesome experience.
