Brother Dorsey Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Hi, I have a question about a Priesthood ordinance I have heard about but have never witnessed nor can I find anything at LDS.org regarding it. It's the consecrating of a grave. My father passed away yesterday and I will be traveling for the funeral in another state in a few days and I wish to consecrate his grave site. I am a Temple reccommend holding member (newly endowed and sealed). If anyone has the correct wording etc. for this ordinance please reply.Thank you. Quote
Guest MrsS Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Talk with your Bishop, he should be able to help you with this. Quote
Palerider Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 it goes like this....Our Father in Heaven....surrounding this open grave we dedicate and consecrate this spot of earth as the final resting place for the body of__________________ and then you might ask that this spot of earth may be a hollowed place to which the kindred may come and then ask a blessing as the spirit dictates.
