bamaute Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 I feel like I should know the answer to this, but I am still frustrated with it. I have been my ward for about 15 months, try to be there as much as I can and participate. Yet, I still don't have a calling. I have asked for one, made people aware that I am willing to serve, but nothing. My wife just received a calling. There are folks who have been the ward for less than a month that getting them. I feel like I am worthy and willing to serve. Is there something I am missing? Quote
annewandering Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 i wondered the same thing. we have lived in our ward for 15 years now and only thing we ever were asked to do is prayer in sacrament once. now its too late. cant even go to church anymore. oh well. good luck. I know it feels very painful to not feel wanted or accepted. Quote
beefche Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 What a great opportunity for you! Instead of being asked, you get to volunteer to help others and actually show that you are sustaining them, rather just sitting back and raising your hand to sustain them. Participate in SS and EQ. Let the Primary president know you are available for last minute lessons if a teacher gets sick. Tell your EQP the same thing. Get there early to help set up chairs/pass out hymnbooks/whatever wherever it is needed. Let the powers that be know you are available to bless/pass the sacrament. Sign up to go with the missionaries, greet people, sit with new members, etc. Look for specific ways to help others. Seriously, look at this as a way to show your faith and patience, rather than find a way to view it as not being worthy. Quote
