Guest Posted January 11, 2013 Report Posted January 11, 2013 I wish Idaho had as many resources as Utah. But I have gotten great prices on wheat and produce locally. Quote

lds2 Posted April 2, 2013 Author Report Posted April 2, 2013 Just bumping this up for those who might be "conference" sale shopping this time of year. Some things will still most likely be cheaper at some of these stores rather than at the "sales" at other places. Quote
lds2 Posted July 3, 2013 Author Report Posted July 3, 2013 Augason Farms Outlet Store has moved, it is now at: 1833 S. 3850 W. SLC, UT 84104 Store Hours 9:00am-5:00pm Mon - Fri Most of their stuff is in cans and while they have a great deal more selection in the retail store (especially of gluten free foods) I think their prices are the same as what they sell at Walmart and Maceys. But usually they have instore specials, and every once in a while I have gotten some great deals there such as dented cans, e.g. a friend that went to their grand opening got Quinoa for $3 per 20 lb bag. This is in the same (relative) neighborhood as Welfare Square Dry Pack Cannery, Honeyville (see address up a few posts) and Industrial Container Supply (for water containers and plastic buckets.) Seriously you could buy a year supply with most all the toys and extras easily in an afternoon. Note the hours so you don't go there on a Saturday (same goes for Industrial Container Supply.) Quote
lds2 Posted August 16, 2013 Author Report Posted August 16, 2013 I thought this was kind of cute, a home ec film from the 50's talking about buying food...talks about case lot sales which are coming up soon!Buying Food (1950) - YouTube Quote
WyomingEMT Posted August 18, 2013 Report Posted August 18, 2013 I enjoyed that they all dressed up for dinner, I think they did dress up like the Cleavers in the sitcom (Leave it to Beaver). Quote

lds2 Posted December 19, 2013 Author Report Posted December 19, 2013 (edited) The LDS Family Home Storage Centers no longer have canners (except Sandy and Welfare Square) or bulk food supplies in bags. They do however have a wider supply of already canned products such as pasta, beans, apples, etc.LDS links change fairly frequently but here is the current list of locations for these centers...Home Storage Center LocationsHere is the current list of products and prices (1/2014)Home Storage Center Order FormYou can now buy a much bigger variety of canned foods at the LDS catalog store and they will deliver it to your doorstep (in the US) for about $6 more per box, order here...Self-Reliance - store.lds.org.
