What are some good places to look offline? Is Wal-Mart, Target, or similar stores good places to find dresses? Also, I'm searching on a budget. Quote

Ah okay thanks! I wonder if I can find plus size dresses at those places? Quote
Guest MrsS Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 I buy my plus size at K-Mart, and at Deseret Industries(church thrift store), I also order by mail from Blaire. The Wal*Mart here in my town caters to the mexicans and indians so I don't buy the clothes. I am not interested in skin tight jersey type material in leopard print, jungle prints, cosmic colors, or styles that 2-bit street walkers are wearing. The JC Penny store caters to the teens - thus the largest size they carry is 12. I do go on-line and look at what is available at the Fred Myer where my sister lives, then I email her, ask her to go take a look and if it passes her inspection, buy it for me and I reimburse her. She also is a plus size, but her coloring is different from mine. She wears deep reds, navy blues and browns. I wear the light olives, mauves, softer tones of colors. I have heard that there are 4, second hand stores in the Phoenix/Tempe/Mesa area that cater to the Plus Size, and the clothes are classic styles, and priced at about 75$ off original retail. Also a modest dress/outfit is: Not skin tight, cap sleeves/ minimum, the neckline is not plunging to the bra or past it. The hem of the skirt is not above the knee, nor are the side seams cut to above the knees. The back of the bodice is NOT cut low either. Cocktail dresses are not really appropriate, neither are formals. I think that it is really sad when a pre-teen and teens are wearing second/third hand "After 5/Cocktail" dresses meant for an adult that they find in thrift stores. It isn't appropriate for an adult, much less a pre-teen/teen to wear to Church. Just like it would not be appropriate for a pre-teen/teen boy to be wearing a tuxedo that he found at a second hand store. Quote
Guest Monica Posted October 28, 2006 Report Posted October 28, 2006 You can find alot of really nice dresses at major department stores in the clearance department. I find alot of gorgious things there for a fraction of the price. What I would really love to find is a store that has Prarrie Wear. Its just gorgious! Quote
