pam Posted September 30, 2012 Report Posted September 30, 2012 Our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know us and love us. They know when we are in pain and suffering. They feel the depth of our suffering and we can feel their love even in our suffering. Alma testified that Christ would go forth to suffer so that would know how to succor His people. We must never turn away from our Heavenly Father during adversity. Whatever sin, weakness, pain or trial you are going through He will love you and carry you through those moment. Cast your burdens upon Him.Tell your Heavenly Father about how you feel, about your afflictions and then give them to Him. Quote
Wingnut Posted September 30, 2012 Report Posted September 30, 2012 (edited) I felt the Spirit during this talk in a way and to a magnitude that I haven't felt in a really really long time. Actually, I was paying so much attention to the Spirit during Sister Reeves' talk that I only took one note, which is a little unusual. I don't always take notes, but when I don't, it;s not usually due to listening between the lines -- it's usually due to laziness. The line I wrote down was, "Whatever...you are going through, He understands those very moments." I like the specificity of it. It was a really great meeting overall. pam Posted September 30, 2012 Author Report Posted September 30, 2012 It was touching to hear her tell the story of almost losing her husband but then losing her daughter who was 17. Quote
Wingnut Posted September 30, 2012 Report Posted September 30, 2012 The part that really spoke to me was when she referred to Oliver Cowdery, and quoted from D&C 6. My favorite scripture is the one immediately after what she quoted, and I needed to be reminded of it. Quote
