I actually felt pretty great about the whole santa thing until I saw this documentary on the history of christmas and how the legend, image, story of santa was changed so that merchants could sell stuff. I really wanted to stay thinking that everybody just loved the altruistic nature of the whole thing and that keeping it was a sign of our better nature. The air has officially left my balloon.
