I'm divorced from an abusive man and I think to remarry with a widower.

What will happen to me in the next life? Is it possible to spouse in temple a widower already sealed to his first wife?

Is that mean an inferior eternal life than to be the unique wife of a man? Will I miss something greater? :(

Polygamy is not allowed on earth so why will it be accepted in the next life?

If you have any information about this please help me to understand

In the next life, you will be the man's wife. If he was sealed to his first wife, then presumably she will also be his wife.

YOU WILL NOT BE INFERIOR IN ANY SENSE. There is no "inferior" among exalted beings.

We do not understand all things. I cannot tell you how things are arranged in the next life, what we eat or drink, how we spend our days, whether we sleep, or any other such thing. I simply do not know. Similarly, I don't think we really understand the relationship between husbands and wives in the eternities, except that it is similar to what we enjoy now, but much better.

If polygamy is lived in the next life, then it will be a joyous and beautiful thing for you, and you will be happy to live that way. If you are not happy to live that way, you will never be "required" to do so.

In my opinion, it's a non-issue, and you should not waste even a moment worrying about it. (Easier said than done, perhaps.) God loves you and wants you to experience eternal joy. The precise form that joy takes is perhaps not knowable right now, but trust in God that it will be beautiful beyond compare.

Remember 1 Corinthians 2:9:

Mais, comme il est écrit, ce sont des choses que l'oeil n'a point vues, que l'oreille n'a point entendues, et qui ne sont point montées au coeur de l`homme, des choses que Dieu a préparées pour ceux qui l'aiment.

I wish you happiness in your marriage.

It is possible to be sealed to a widower. He will simply be sealed to two wives in this life and in the eternities, assuming all covenants are met.

You won't be missing out on anything.

I tend to think polygamy being allowed/not allowed on earth is a "policy" and in its earthly definition a reflection of a greater principle.

Oh thanks a lot to both for your answer and the time you took to reply. I was hoping so much to get already an answer. It helps me a lot and give me a larger vision!!! Thank you also for the scripture! It's a little bit weird to think about beeing sealed to a man who is already sealed to a first woman but he is an amazing man to my eyes and I know I will be happy beside him and your answers give me peace on my gospel questions.

The wife of one of my closest friends died a few years ago. He was subsequently sealed to another woman, who is step-mother to his three children. They have two more now together. She has told us that it is strange for her to know that her husband is already sealed to another woman. I'm sure she occasionally struggles with it. But they are very happy, she is a wonderful wife and mother, he feels greatly blessed at having such an amazing spouse, and I don't believe they have any regrets. However things turn out in the next life, it will be for our best good. I try not to worry about such things. As the Lord said, "Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof."

Best of luck to you. I wish you great happiness with your future husband.
