momsarai Posted November 27, 2012 Report Posted November 27, 2012 Hello my name is Sarai. I have aquestion that hopefully someone can answer. my husband and I got married four years ago at courthouse. in January it will be my one year of being baptized, very soon we can get sealed in Temple. for me i have always wanted to celebrate our marriage. but since no one was there at courthouse i was wonderding if we could have a small reception to celebrate our sealing. we have kids. im not too sure how sealings works but i know it is very important, so i dont want to be inapropiate about wanting a ¨party´´. please let me know. this is my first thread so im sorry if its a stupid question. THANK YOU Quote
selek Posted November 27, 2012 Report Posted November 27, 2012 So long as the reception does not supercede the ceremony, I don't believe that it would pose a problem. Nor is it a stupid question. Quote
Vort Posted November 27, 2012 Report Posted November 27, 2012 I agree with selek. Sounds like a nice idea. Good luck. Quote
Sunshine_Lily Posted November 28, 2012 Report Posted November 28, 2012 I had a couple in our ward that did a small reception in the gym after their sealing to celebrate their ceremony. They didn't really celebrate their first union together as the had eloped many years ago and were recent converts to the church. It was such a beautiful affair and a great way to congratulate them on their special day. :) Quote
Backroads Posted December 1, 2012 Report Posted December 1, 2012 I know several couples who have done the same thing. All lovely receptions. Enjoy yours. Quote
