Dr T Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 I know that many of you do not watch Survivor but the newest season started yesterday. For those that watch it, what are your thoughts? Quote
BenRaines Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 I watch it and enjoy it. We now record it because after last season my wife swore off Survivor after swearing at Survivor. Survivor is targeted to the 18-35 age category. That is the age of our children. The concept is nice and to see how people survive in the elements is interesting. I would like to see Survivor Military. Take four from each branch of the military, at least one woman on each team. Real Survivor. I see someone like Yao-Man, who knows what he is doing, being used and then discarded because he is older. Ben Raines Quote
Dr T Posted February 9, 2007 Author Report Posted February 9, 2007 I would like to see Survivor Military. Take four from each branch of the military, at least one woman on each team. Real Survivor. You have a great idea there Ben! :) That would be great to watch. Quote
Nate Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 Ah but you need to be more specific. An Army Special Forces and an Navy Seal. A basic marine infantry as well as a army grunt. Maybe a cook from each one. A brand new officer form each service. A brand new private from each. Quote
BenRaines Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 Army Green Beret Marine Corps Recon Navy Seals Don't know what the Air Force calls them They probably just call the Marines. :) Maybe the guys from The Unit that is on tv on Tuesday nights. They could use trapping skills, shooting, basic take down drills as well as live off the land. None of this laying around "I am so hungry" "I can hardly move" "I wanna quit" Did you hear last night that one quit before getting on the canoe to paddle to shore. Quit before it even started after getting there. I am sure that Jeff was ticked. He doesn't like quitters. Ben Raines Quote
Nate Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 Coast Guard? I still like the brand new privates and the brand new butter bars idea. Quote
Dr T Posted February 9, 2007 Author Report Posted February 9, 2007 They received a huge reward right off the bat this time. They seemed to be as excited as someone that has lived with nothing for a long time. I thought, "Wait until you really get into it." Quote
Dr T Posted February 24, 2007 Author Report Posted February 24, 2007 I've been watching and it hasn't been doing it for me this season. Not too connected to any of the participants, either. What do you all think? Quote
Dr T Posted May 11, 2007 Author Report Posted May 11, 2007 Good move to give the truck to Dreams of dumb move? Will Dream stick to his commitment? Will dreams throw an immunity challenge so he don't have to give it up to vote off Yao-Man? Quote
sixpacktr Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 What is happening? I watched it until my wife moved up here with me, and I have lost track. I see that Yao-man is still in it (which kind of surprises me, but I think they all knew he had an immunity challenge and so was safe no matter what they did), but surprised that Dreamz is. I go with the Yao-man. Quote
Dr T Posted May 11, 2007 Author Report Posted May 11, 2007 THere were 6 left last night. 4 men and 2 women. Dreamz, Sandra, Earl (alliance) Boo and Yau are left. Stacy left last night. She made a dumb statement during tribal causal which tipped Yau off that she might not be the one going home as Yau thought was planned. He played his idol and Stacy had to go (Yau would have had to go). This season is not that captivating. Boo has been doing well with the immunity challenges. Yau gave a truck to Dreamz with a deal that if he did, Yau, when there were in the final four, won immunity, he would give it up to Yau. He thought with that immunity and the immunity idol he possessed, he could get farther. Dreams tried to get rid of him before having to give up his idol and "still keep his word." Quote

Dr T Posted May 11, 2007 Author Report Posted May 11, 2007 I just saw the preview for the first time last night. Looks interesting but I wasn't sold. I might watch the first one to see. Boo looks hard to beat in the physical challenges. We'll see Quote
Palerider Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 I have never watched one episode of any survivor show Quote
Dr T Posted May 12, 2007 Author Report Posted May 12, 2007 It's one of the few shows that I do watch. The group dynamics are fun to watch. Sometimes you develop a favorite and want them to go all the way. Other times there are people that are not your favorite. Quote
OIC Posted May 12, 2007 Report Posted May 12, 2007 I have never watched one episode of any survivor showLOL! I've never missed a single episode of Survivor. My wife and I were already fans of Mark Burnett before Survivor was ever thought of because he did the Eco Challenge Adventure Race which is where Jeff Probst came from too. I remember Jeff in a helicopter over the Eco Challange route announcing that Mark Burnett had a new series coming out that season called "Survivor" and my wife and I freaked! We've never missed an episode since. Quote
Dr T Posted May 12, 2007 Author Report Posted May 12, 2007 OIC, Which player would you like to see win Survivor Fiji? Quote
BenRaines Posted May 14, 2007 Report Posted May 14, 2007 Tonight is the night and I would like to see Earl as the winner. Yauman would be a nice winner but I don't think he will make the final four. I think Dreamz will betray him Ben Raines Quote
Dr T Posted May 14, 2007 Author Report Posted May 14, 2007 $1,000,000 or your word? Which is most important? Quote
Dr T Posted May 14, 2007 Author Report Posted May 14, 2007 SPOILER ALERT: Great call Ben. You named it all tonight. Quote
BenRaines Posted May 14, 2007 Report Posted May 14, 2007 Dr. T. The miracle of the Internet and living on the west coast. :) I must maintain my integrity. Not like those young people on Survivor. Ben Raines Quote
