Vort Posted February 15, 2013 Report Posted February 15, 2013 Ok another question. The Lord made Adam and Eve and they had children and they had children ect. So several people where here on earth before the birth of Jesus. SO when was this plan of Jesus coming to die for our sins? Why were there people here before? The plan was made before the foundation of the world. The Christ was to come in the meridian (or middle) of time, not at the beginning or at the end. Quote

That is one of those interesting questions we get to ask after we die.In fact, I wouldn't call that part of the gospel. It has no bearing on me whatsoever. It is just an interesting statement in the Bible. Quote
Anddenex Posted February 16, 2013 Report Posted February 16, 2013 So does it explain anywhere why people BC lived like 800 some odd years and people now days don't?This is the only information within scripture giving us any insight as to why people lived longer, but doesn't give us any insight as to why we do not live longer now:2 Nephi 2: 21And the days of the children of men were prolonged, according to the will of God, that they might repent while in the flesh; wherefore, their state became a state of probation, and their time was lengthened, according to the commandments which the Lord God gave unto the children of men. For he gave commandment that all men must repent; for he showed unto all men that they were elost, because of the transgression of their parents. Quote
Vort Posted February 16, 2013 Report Posted February 16, 2013 I have seen the suggestion that the "years" lived by the ancient patriarchs were months, and that mistranslation and tradition combined to obscure this. I doubt that explanation, but it's kind of interesting to think about. A good long life is right about 1000 months. Quote
