Irony

He is the lion.

Gold-brown eyes survey his land.

Arrogance abounds.

The lazy lion.

Forgetting who makes the kill.

Not he; for he sleeps.

The lioness stalks.

She carries all the burden;

Killing and birthing.

The lion does smirk.

On a throne he highly sits;

Proud, lazy, and blind.

Silent lioness.

She sees what the lion can't...

Her throne is taller.

Writing haiku is a tough ordeal and I feel you have done excellent with this one. Considering haiku is usually writing in isolation, yet you have mamaged to write five as a poem. Impressive. My style falls within open form poetry formats. Thank for sharing.
