searching_questioner Posted March 10, 2013 Report Posted March 10, 2013 My daughter is on a mission and has asked me for some advice. In her most recent letter she explained that she is always busy and never has enough time to do all that she feels she needs to or would like to be able to do. Consequently, she is often making choices between two alternatives, both of which are good and she says she finds this difficult. Can anyone direct me to any conference talks, or similar material that I can then refer her to so that she can more easily and quickly make these kinds of decisions? Thanks. Quote

Guest Posted March 10, 2013 Report Posted March 10, 2013 Has she talked to her mission president about where her priorities should be? Quote
searching_questioner Posted March 10, 2013 Author Report Posted March 10, 2013 Its not big picture stuff she's worrying about, I suspect her Mission President has the same priorities for all his missionaries - preach the gospel and help people make and keep covenants that will lead to baptism. In her letter, it mostly seemed to be the small, day to day stuff that she was worrying about - to visit the elderly sister whose husband recently died or to meet with the investigator struggling to keep the word of wisdom; when District Meeting runs over time and ruins the normal schedule, which part of the schedule is it better to drop for the day, language study or preach my gospel study. To spend the day tracting in order to find new investigators, or work on strengthening existing investigators. That sort of stuff. Quote
Vort Posted March 10, 2013 Report Posted March 10, 2013 Elder Oaks' "Good - Better - Best" talk from General Conference several years ago is a great investigation of this principle.Good, Better, Best - general-conference Quote

Glad to know I wasn't just imagining it. Edited March 10, 2013 by wyarwehere Quote
