Me too Pale. I see how much is taken out in taxes and it astounds me sometimes. I know it is used for important things (sometimes). :)

I don't want anyone to feel left out....the state of Missouri gets a big chunk also...LOL!!!!!

i have been a fan of nat'l sales/use tax for at least 10 years.

as to Missouri taxes...i have to pay Kansas City an income tax, and i dont live there...i just work there...i live in Liberty.

that bites....i'm sure my employer must pay a gazillion dollars a year in taxes, too

That's the thing. I often laugh when people think, "He/She owns a business, they are rolling in dough." The way things are, having to pay a minimum wage ($7.50 in CA-an 11.1 % increase from the last minimum wage or $0.75 increase and now by Jan. 1, 2008 the new minimum wage will be $8.00) overhead, supplies, indirect, etc., it is hard to keep a place running sometimes.

some friends of ours that have a small buisness....they say its hard to hire someone because of what you have to pay them now.....

Do you mean minium wage? I think it's around 7.00 here.

The trouble we have here is there are plenty of low paying jobs but now one wants to work.
