I've been browsing the forum for some time, but now I figured I would finally sign up for an account. I am a single 33 year old living in Salt Lake City with my awesome (yet sick :() dog Nephi. I am currently putting myself through college at the University of Utah studying business. I am very thankful for our Father in Heaven who has given me the opportunity to start anew in the business world with a new degree. No matter what happens, I can always count on Him!

Hi strutherstravis... cool, can I use your thread to ask you a quick question about Salt Lake City? I'll be there on a quick visit the week after next, and I only have about 4 hours to see Temple Square. But I can choose the time of day. I'll be a first-time visitor. In your opinion, is Temple Square most impressive in daylight, at dusk, or in the evening? The Tripadvisor comments say it's spectacular any time of day, which doesn't help me a lot.

Hope your dog is well again soon. I bet your veterinarian didn't ask you if you were LDS. :)

Thanks for your concern Zeitgeist. I would have to agree with Tripadvisor in saying that it's spectacular any time of day, but if you have only 4 hours to spend there, I would say try to get a little bit of sunset along with evening. I leave out seeing it in the daytime because, while it is still impressive, something about the contrasting colors makes it stand out as the sun sets and it gets darker. Hope I helped!

I agree with the timeframe. I live in the Salt Lake City area as well and it's soooo pretty at night.

I was there in May and got to have dinner at The Roof at a table overlooking the temple at sunset. It was really beautiful.
