musashi Posted June 18, 2007 Report Posted June 18, 2007 sorry i took so long to reply but i don't think satan puts thoughs into your head. first of all he would be too busy to just be concentrating all that time on you. there are 6 and a half billion people in the world you know. it would have to be one of his minions. i'm thinking about the process of HOW they put the thoughts in your head. i would say first of all they think of something evil, then they use their magic to take that thought out of their head and transport it in to your mind. then they wait there to see if you entertain that thought or not. thats probably what happened. the other possibility is that sometimes your mind THINKS and REASONS. maybe sometimes it doesn't just accept everything at face value. i think if your mind has doubts sometimes the best thing to do would be to study it out and prove to yourself it is true, or prove it is not true. you can get those feelings of doubt out of your head by ultimately proving whether it is true or not. the doubts will go away when you KNOW something is true. i'm not talking about just having a FEELING it is true. like going to the temple and just feeling good about whats going on. actually studying it and proving it.
Annabelli Posted June 18, 2007 Report Posted June 18, 2007 My neighbor had a friend over and they were talking on the curb beside his vehicle. I came along walking my dog and my neighbor introduced me as "she's a Mormon." This fella decided to tease me a little about faith. He says "What does it take to get into your church?" I replied "Give the Missionaries a call and they can explain it to you." He said "How do I get in touch with them?" I replied "Just pray and they will come to you." He said "I just pray and they show up?" I replied "It's been a while since he's heard from you." The man smiled and said "I guess it has been a while."
vinny15 Posted June 19, 2007 Author Report Posted June 19, 2007 <div class='quotemain'>Thanks. I have the head shaking thing happen to. Its odd. True my mind in the temple had no bad thoughts in it. I wish I could always be in the temple. I will definatley neveer stop reading my scriptures and going to church. I have a testimony and Satan knows it. I was reading a book on ephraim and it says that ephraim will be challenged and tested only when there faith is strong. When they are doing things casually than satan merely tempts them. Its actually quite interesting.Check out Acts chapter 19:11-16 ...These vagabond Jews tried to cast out demons, and the demons said," Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?" The demons don't waist their time with "so-so" christians, they attack the ones that are a threat to them! If you are being attacked...the devils know you and feel that you are a threat...They knew Jesus and Paul, you are in good company!!!Thats a cool scripture. I remember something about Newel K wittney being overcome with a demond that was excorsised by joseph smith. Thanks that makes me feel better. I talked to my bishop about my sleep paraysis and I said it makes me feel stronger to know that satan is putting personal efforts against me.sorry i took so long to reply but i don't think satan puts thoughs into your head. first of all he would be too busy to just be concentrating all that time on you. there are 6 and a half billion people in the world you know. it would have to be one of his minions. i'm thinking about the process of HOW they put the thoughts in your head. i would say first of all they think of something evil, then they use their magic to take that thought out of their head and transport it in to your mind. then they wait there to see if you entertain that thought or not.thats probably what happened. the other possibility is that sometimes your mind THINKS and REASONS. maybe sometimes it doesn't just accept everything at face value. i think if your mind has doubts sometimes the best thing to do would be to study it out and prove to yourself it is true, or prove it is not true. you can get those feelings of doubt out of your head by ultimately proving whether it is true or not. the doubts will go away when you KNOW something is true.i'm not talking about just having a FEELING it is true. like going to the temple and just feeling good about whats going on. actually studying it and proving it.The thing is I dont feel doubt. Its like they were trying to plant little seeds in my head in mass production. Its merely jumping thoughts that are easily overcome, but your mind is constantly at work. I know the church is true. Ive seen so much anti mormon literature and still found the truth. There is always an answer.

When I say "Satan" I mean him and all of his minions. I think they actually are talking to us, all of the time, but to our spirits, which are able to hear things our physical bodies can't (this is all in the gospel according to me, mind you). And I think that there are more than one at any one time, trying their darndest...
musashi Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 ????? I don't get it. If thoughts come in to your head, your saying they're not yours, but that a devil is putting them into your head? Isn't it just that doubts are coming into your head and that you are ignoring by reassuring yourself that you know the church is true?
vinny15 Posted June 19, 2007 Author Report Posted June 19, 2007 Yes in a way, but it's really wierd. Its not like regular doubt or thoughts, its something entirely different wich is by the way over and done with. It happened when I got more active in the church and now its dampened and gone a little. They are unsubstantial doubts or thoughts aswell. It doenst make me feel good either. So I know its satan. I prayed and read scriptures and now God is helping me alot more. I guess I just had to have my test of faith. Like I said before I have had a lot of things try to mess with me including sleep paralysis and ofcorse I read that book on my tribe wich is ephraim and it says that we are tested to the max when we start doing what is rght.

I also believe that Satan doesn't waist his time on "peons", he has bigger fish than me to work on.
Dr T Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 Satan is read to devour any and all possible. You are very valuable Yediyd. When you think otherwise, you might be is the most danger.

Annabelli Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 D&C 50 Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet, at Kirtland, Ohio, May 1831. HC 1: 170–173. The Prophet states that some of the elders did not understand the manifestations of different spirits abroad in the earth, and that this revelation was given in response to his special inquiry on the matter. So-called spiritual phenomena were not uncommon among the members, some of whom claimed to be receiving visions and revelations. 1–5, Many false spirits are abroad in the earth; 6–9, Wo unto the hypocrites and those who are cut off from the Church; 10–14, Elders are to preach the gospel by the Spirit; 15–22, Both preachers and hearers need to be enlightened by the Spirit; 23–25, That which doth not edify is not of God; 26–28, The faithful are possessors of all things; 29–36, Prayers of the purified are answered; 37–46, Christ is the Good Shepherd and the Stone of Israel.
rosie321 Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 True believers in christ "are in this world but not of it". I believe its Hebrews that talks of this. Around chapter 11 maybe? The things that make most people going in the world and satisfied fall a lot of times in the category of the flesh and will not be things of the spirit. (Galatians 5) Christians are led by the spirit. The more truth you obtain and learn the harder it will be. Because you will realize how much you are not of this world in some ways and so will others. There will be a discrepancy and you will always struggle to some degree as you walk in faith. You will be confused or have your mind stray to things not of this world at different points and time. Sometimes your mind will get stuck in the now world too. The other world stuff can be too difficult or too much at a given moment. Its tough to keep two world systems straight in one mind :) Theres a correlation between faith and satans attacks. The more faith you develop the easier in some ways because you have more purpose and defintion. But it becomes harder because you become more different from the world. People may isolate themselves from you and you may experience different hardships because of commitments you have made (ie sabbath holy, word of wisdom, temple related stuff). So it will really seem as Satan is attacking you harder. You will recognize things working against you more. That is when you conciously have to choose who will win. What is most important to you. Many christian faiths promote calling on the name of Jesus. It is a way of conciously choosing that path of God and pulling down heavens resources to aide. Trust in God. We don't know all God's ways . We do know however that He is a provider and has asked us to come to Him with our needs. He has our best long term interests in mind. I like where Moses is shown all the things and Satan immediately comes. (POG) Also where Christ was tempted. They put Satan in his place. Satan wanted Christ to choose the worldly thing and not the Godly thing. What will you daily and every moment choose? Some people think of it as a one time choice. Maybe one time every minute or second :) The fact that you are seeing this is not the problem. Just make sure you keep doing what you know to be right. Pressing forward and enduring to the end. Developing Christlike attributes in your life. Carry on .....(singing hymm in head) Try as others said to minimize the stuff you put into your brain. Selectively choose. Prayers go with you

Its odd and funny. I dont have to much of a problem anymore, but you helped a lot. I also like Moses in the POG. I love to imagine the seen. I see Satan getting scared and wondering whats happening and then screaming at the top of hhis lungs in anger. Its like I can almost feel how miserable he really is and how he knows he past up a huge chance by becoming satan.Thanks.
