Sorry CK (and others), our posts crossed. The Mac I was looking at was on Mac Store. I looked at the Notebook kind and didn't like the 15 inch screen. I know there is a 17 inch but then I started looking at the iMacs. I was looking at the 20 inch monitor with the "create you own" type thing. I added an upgrade on hard drive and memory, and some other things (but not all the bells and whistles) and it ended up being close to $4000. That was what I was referencing.

Yeah, don't go through Apple's online Store unless you're a millionaire. They charge you like $300 for one gig of RAM...which you can get elsewhere for around $99 (not the Apple brand of RAM, but the same type).

Go to www.macmall.com and find some sweet retail deals.

More games are being made for Macs, and old titles are being ported over, so soon, windows won't be the only way to game.

Not only games but evereything, you can go to any internet site it will directly see if you have a mac and adjust to it. All softwares are getting availible for Mac as well. Dosent mather if its google earth or even MICROSOFT OFFICE, you can have it all for a Mac to.

Jason, hearing about someone with a Mac getting a virus and getting one are different. I don't care if anyone else gets one through a service I never use (instant messenger...I assume you're referring to MSN Messenger for Mac?). I've never had problems with my Macs or Mac-native software.

Iv never heard of someone getting a virus on a Mac before.

And uh...I'd love to pit one of the eight core Mac Pro's against your $2,500 PC. ;)

with 16 GB RAM, and all that... Everey game and software developer uses that one, and Macbook Pro, It wouldnt suprise me if Bill Gates have a secret room in hes mansion with one of those.

If you live in Sweden you can go to http://www.macoteket.se/

They are cheaper in stores and other outside sources, Its realy strange. But its only the basic, you can not get a Macbook wit 2 GB Ram, only 1 GB et c.

I haven't looked yet. Are they used?

no brand new, only cheaper. You can also buy a Ram memory seperate and upgrade yourself even cheaper. All you need is a special mini screw. There is an instruction video here.

Well that was last year's PC. ;) It is an Athlon FX-62, 3 Gig DDR2, two 250 gig Sata HD's, and my little Nvidia 7900GT PCIE card.

I still think I'd win. B)

This fall when I upgrade, just watch out.

You guys are getting me to think I need one of those new MacBook Pro models. I have been thinking of a new laptop and the ones at macmall.com do look pretty sweet.

I wonder if I will be able to take it home or need to keep it at my office so the wife doesn't see it. I have enough tech toys as it is.

I checked out Macmall, they are realy realy cheap, then i checked out the ordinary mac store for the US market, realy realy cheap...

It must be the high swedish taxes, that and Mac being an american, outside of the EU, and then add up its outside of Sweden. In Sweden its like 200 dollars more expensive for an ordinary macbook...

And swedish people make less than Americans so lets add up a little more, this makes me angry!!!

En garde! :duel:

Yeah, I had to add a gig of RAM to both my iMac and my Macbook Pro so each had 2 gigs of RAM. My old G5 (PPC instead of Intel CPU) had 3 gigs of RAM and my computer animation software eats RAM like a missionary eats PB&J sandwiches.

Someday I'm gonna' get a Mac Pro with 16 gigs of RAM, a terrabyte's worth of harddrive, and lots of other goodies. Once you've touched the aluminum chassis, you're never the same again. B)

So you're saying that I should buy a bunch and then sell them in Sweden?

That wouldnt be a bad idea, evereything is expensive in Sweden, the alcohol taxes are 60%, so you have to pay a lot for alcohol,

A lot of people go to other countries, like the mediterainian for weekations, then come back with swedish alcohol, its much much cheaper outside of Sweden.

I'll tell you what, when this game comes out, you can come over to my house to play.

:coolrockon:

If that doesn't give you PC envy, nothing will.

First thing I noticed about the site: the trailer plays in Quicktime, which is made by...oh, yeah...Apple! :animatedtongue:

Seriously though, that game looks tight. Hard to tell what's a cutscene and what's realtime footage. I loved the chase-view of the A-10 towards the end of the trailer. My dad flew F-15 Eagles and A-10 Warthogs.

I like my strategy games moderately simple, though. Company of Heroes is just the right mix of complex and simplicity for me. Masters of Orion III...yeah, let's not go there.

You're on though, Jason. Get your guest room ready...I'm comin' over when that game releases! B)

I was blown away when that Soviet Mil-Mi 24 Hind comes out of that Russian "cargo" ship and starts firing....wow!

yes the game realy shows what you can make with a mac. yes quicktime is from apple, itunes is from apple, firewire is from apple to=)

All bestselling pc games come to mac, world of warcraft even runs better on macs.

It's true.

Mac developed USB, Firewire, is already arming its Macbook/Pro's with ExpressCard/34 slots.

Ooh, ooh, ooh, I forgot to mention that iMacs and even my Macbook Pro come with remote controls (look like iPod nanos). You can turn off your computer with them, or turn them on with them, and the iMac control "sticks" to the right side of the iMac at a certain magnetic spot. How cool can Apple get?

Yep Jason, that Russian chopper looked like real footage, not CG. Does anyone have a tissue? I licked my screen. :D

Apparently if you pre-order the game through Amazon, you can download the Beta version and play right now.

Oh temptation is striking....
