vinny15 Posted June 22, 2007 Report Posted June 22, 2007 Well a friend and I did some interseting equations to figure out the mass of the ruling planet Kolob. Since a thousand years on earth is one day there than according to special relativity it has to have a much larger mass than earth and according to what Joseph smith has said on the subject. First we were reading that because of the mass of the sun as a year passes on earth a year minus 67 seconds passes on the sun. So we made a ratio of the masses to see how much mass it would take to change 67 seconds of a year and than we found how much it would take to shorten it by a second. Keep in mind this is only out of a year. The ratios were as follows. 67 seconds out of a year extra mass needed to subtract 67 seconds 67s/31,536,000s = 1/2,197,793,400,000,000,000,000,000,000,000kg 1 second out of a year. extra mass (must be added to earth mass) needed to subtract a second 1s/31,536,000s = 1/32,802,886,567,164,179,104,477,611,940kg Now we were looking for 1000 yrs to 1 day So we multiplied the time ratios by 86400 seconds wich is a day in seconds. viable ratio(meaning we know the mass ratio to go along) 1 day 86,400 years 1s/2,724,710,400,000s change ratio to days by multiplying mass by 86400. 1day/31536000day = 1/2,834,169,399,402,985,074,626,865,671,616,000 Than the ratio for kolob in seconds would be: 1day 1000 years 86,400/31,536,000,000 days 1day/365000days Subtract day ratios and multiply mass times the result then add to the mass of the earth to get the mass of kolob. The mass of kolob is 1,034,471,830,782,090,212,238,805,970,149,000,000,000 kg compared to the mass of the earth wich is. 6600000000000000000000000. How many earths fit in kolob. about 157 trillion will fit. The diameter of kolob? about 200 sextillion km. So the earth compared to kolob is like a grain of sand on earth compared to the sun. Dont worry it confused me a bit to Quote

vinny15 Posted June 22, 2007 Author Report Posted June 22, 2007 Now I KNOW you are a 40 year old midget.Im not a midget. Im 6 ft. lol Hey it took me all night. My brain hurt. Literally All that lol. Quote
Outshined Posted June 23, 2007 Report Posted June 23, 2007 The problem comes with the fact that the scriptures do not refer to Kolob as a planet, but a star. Quote
vinny15 Posted June 23, 2007 Author Report Posted June 23, 2007 The problem comes with the fact that the scriptures do not refer to Kolob as a planet, but a star. Ya thats right. It's used to govern. Its one of the great ones near unto the thrown of God. Im not sure what it is. The celestial glory is refered to as everlasting burnings. So a celestial planet could very well be similar to a star. The center of our galaxy is about the size of Kolob and scientists have found signatures of non-thermal light radiating from the center. Quote
Outshined Posted June 23, 2007 Report Posted June 23, 2007 You'd do better to compare it with the sun than the earth. B) Quote
vinny15 Posted June 23, 2007 Author Report Posted June 23, 2007 You'd do better to compare it with the sun than the earth. B)I was comparing the sun and the earth as my initial ratio. The masses cause time change via special relativity. The mass I found would be correct no matter what I compared it to. The amount of earth that would fit inside might be worng because of different densities, but thats all I can find. Quote

vinny15 Posted June 23, 2007 Author Report Posted June 23, 2007 Sorry sweety, I'm in NY. Darn. Oh well. Maybe some day. Quote
Dr T Posted June 23, 2007 Report Posted June 23, 2007 What color is it and what is the circumference? (only joking) Quote
Guest Yediyd Posted June 23, 2007 Report Posted June 23, 2007 What color is it and what is the circumference? (only joking)While you're laughing...this kid is probably figuring that out!!!!! Quote
Guest Yediyd Posted June 23, 2007 Report Posted June 23, 2007 never mind.Oh? I was just kidding about how smart Vinny is...not argueing with ya, Dr. T. Quote
Dr T Posted June 23, 2007 Report Posted June 23, 2007 No, I understand that Yed. I typed something, then thought it might be interpreted wrong so I took it off and just said, "never mind." I didn't want to come across that way when it wasn't intended. Quote

Guest Yediyd Posted June 23, 2007 Report Posted June 23, 2007 I thought that was "excuses"That too....LOL!!!!!! Quote
vinny15 Posted June 23, 2007 Author Report Posted June 23, 2007 Dr. T. you asked lol. 628,318,530,717,958,647,692,528,676.6559 km Thats the circumference. I already had the diameter so that was easy. As to the color. I would guess white. Very white. I know Im a pain. Ill stop lol. Quote
Outshined Posted June 23, 2007 Report Posted June 23, 2007 By the way, aside from nitpicking about definitions, I was very impressed with your math, Vinny. Good job; looks like you've been paying attention in school. Quote

Can't believe you took the time to figure that out.People like you make my head throb :) Amazing.Good Work (if I could and desired to comprehend it all :) )There's enough in the here and now I have difficulties with. vinny15 Posted June 23, 2007 Author Report Posted June 23, 2007 Thanks guys. I have an obsession with science and the Gospel. One cannot come without the other. What I found interesting is that in the PoGP they new that kolob was huge and they new that because of mass time is shortened. Well they didnt know that they heard it from God. Unless they knew about special relativity around 1840 than it was impossible to be made up. I believe in the church fully, but if it want true than Joseph Smith was the smartest man since time bagan. That would mean smarter than Einstein. Wich he wasnt he had a 3rd grade education and grew up on a farm. According to his mother he didnt read much either. I love the Prophet If the Bom wasnt true he wouldve had to of known about the cement buildings in the north land, that the ancient olmecs practiced infant baptism, that they spoke of the return of a white bearded god that was crucified and from the birth and death of him on the mayan long calender matches the death and birth of christ. I dont think he was that smart (know offence joseph lol) I think he was a prophet. Quote
Dr T Posted June 23, 2007 Report Posted June 23, 2007 You are not a pain Vinny. How do the stats about Kolob match up with the Sun and other planets in our solar system? Size, gravitational pull etc.? (if you could speculate) Quote
