Better ways to use Familysearch

Just wondering if anyone has experience with software or a website that improves the usability of Familysearch. I want to do more family history work, but I'm always put off by the fact that each generation of my family tree takes forever to load.

Anyone know of a better/faster way to to use the information in Familysearch Family Tree?

I use Ancestry to do my searching. I find Family Search is super slow and I don't have tons of time to sit and wait for a page to load either. But, I do the work because I want my ancestors to have their work done. Not sure what, if anything they can do to get those pages to load faster.

My advice--

 

Ditch FamilySearch for everything but submitting temple work.  That is it's purpose now.  Researching lines is done best via Ancestry, which is why the church arranged for all members to have free accounts there.  If you want you can import data from FamilySearch to Ancestry in ~4 clicks.

NOTE:  When transferring families from Ancestry to FS, be sure to check FS that the entire family was transferred.  I have had situations where it said everything was transferred, but it did not show up in FS.  

 

But no problem when just transferring individuals.
