Sunday21 Posted November 5, 2016 Report Posted November 5, 2016 Hi. We baptized a 20 year old student from china yesterday. Very special! As a ward, I think we have done a good job of supporting him. I drive him to church. Our employment specialist and others are trying to find him a volunteer position to help improve his English. We had a mandarin speaker give a talk st the baptism. He has been invited to dinner by members. Good job all round! Jane_Doe 1 Quote
Sunday21 Posted December 8, 2016 Author Report Posted December 8, 2016 Further 'Yeahs', we got this young man a job! This man is studying to become a mechanical engineer and he really wanted a part time job in a factory in Canada to help him to make the leap to his permanent job as a mechanical engineer and to improve his English. We helped him write a resume and cover letter. We asked everyone we knew about jobs in factories and finally, a member of the church mentioned that his factory was hiring students and, yeah, finally he has the job he needs. The power of asking everyone you know! I so wish that more of the students in our ward would think about what they want to do and tell us what they need to get there! Quote
