a-train Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 Helen Mar Kimball was sealed to Joseph Smith at the age of 15. She lived with her family and went on to settle in Utah with the saints. She was never taken away from her family or abused. Further, she published defending writings of polygamy and lived to the age of 68 when she passed in Salt Lake City. She went on to remarry and have many children. She suffered the hardships of the trek west and endured to the end. To my knowledge, the only complications or afflictions she suffered due to her sealing to Joseph Smith were simply the lack of social tolerance in others. -a-train Quote
Dale Posted October 14, 2007 Report Posted October 14, 2007 I think it's a mistake to assume Joseph Smith had relationship's with 33 women. Some definitely were possibly sealed to him in name only. I doubt he had time for honeymoon's with 33 women. Several time's in In Sacred Lonliness Todd Compton admit's nothing is known about what happened after the ceremony. But the total lack of children of Joseph Smith via plural wive's suggests much celibacy not the promiscuity some think him guilty of. Quote
