Hello, I am looking for books that aren't nessecarlly church doctrine but would still have a stamp of approval from church authorities though not nesscarily in a offcial capacity (need spell check). Something like what seminary students would get as study guides / books that every LDS person should have. ete.

Specificly right now im looking at getting "Making Isaiah Plain: An Old Testament Study Guide for the Book of Isaiah" (reading 1st nephi again) yes its written by an LDS author and sold by deseret books but when you got to some other book for doctorine instruction I like to at least put a little effort into looking stuff over, it would be nice if there was a list out there that had already been looked over.

Thanks

Something like the Missionary Reference Library? That's currently made up of Our Search for Happiness by M. Russell Ballard, Jesus the Christ by James E. Talmage, Our Heritage, and True to the Faith. Articles of Faith by James E. Talmage, Truth Restored by Gordon B. Hinckley, A Marvelous Work and a Wonder by LeGrand Richards, and Gospel Principles were previously included.

In case you don't know, the Missionary Reference Library is a set of books that full-time missionaries can take with them and study while on their missions.
