I am not sure I quite understand your statement – may I ask a question to clarify?  Do you not think of ever passing on a comment concerning other people’s choices?  Good or bad? --- as a choice that is perhaps good or bad?  Is this not a paradox and contradiction of logic?    And reflected in your comment in the first place that comments or lack of comments can reflect on whatever a choice was?

Question – how will anyone ever come to know what choices reflect badly?

I was once told by a detective that for every person that commits a crime – there was someone else that encouraged or enabled the offence.

One last thought – the single most common denominator in our world’s genius is that they are mentored.  I have often wondered if those that have difficulty obtaining excellence is because they were not taught.

Obviously, to those at the fringes of our associations we will have little or no influence – but for those with whom we are intimate and love – should we not encourage them - not just to be better but the best possible.
