MichaelPAGuy Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 I don't know if anyone remembers but a few months ago I posted that I resigned from the church and am currently working my way on re-joining. The bishop just called me and said it is possible, however i have to wait at least 1 year, at which then I can be re-baptized and once again confirmed a member. I guess they want to see how dedicated I am. I am going to do everything in my power to once again join the church. Quote
WillowTheWhisp Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 I think the one year wait is fairly standard. Enjoy your way back and look forward to the glorious day when you can be re-baptised.Had you previously been to the temple? Quote
Mahonri Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 Micheal, congratulations. Did you ever go to the Temple prior to your resignation? If that is the case, you, your bishop and your stake president will need to write letters petitioning the First Presidency to have your temple and priesthood blessings restored.... that comes after at least another years wait after baptism (and sometimes it's longer). The important thing is to be positive and to have a good attitude. Quote

MorningStar Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 That's wonderful news! It will be even sweeter after the year wait, I'm sure. Quote
MichaelPAGuy Posted February 5, 2008 Author Report Posted February 5, 2008 Yes I have been to the temple before. I had my endowments in the Mesa, AZ temple. What changed, I realized what a mistake I made when I resigned. I lost my testimony. After meeting with the missionaries and studying my scriptures and praying alot more I have re-gained my testimony again. I can't wait until this December when I can be baptized once again and re-join this wonderful church. Quote
WillowTheWhisp Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 Regaining your temple blessings will be the most wonderful day of your life. Hang on in there because the Adversary will more than likely try to put a spanner in the works to stop that happening.Welcome back :) Quote
MichaelPAGuy Posted February 5, 2008 Author Report Posted February 5, 2008 Thank you very much for your kind words of encouragement. We are all humans, thus as humans we make mistakes. This is one of the beautiful about this gospel and church, we can repent our sins and will be forgiven. I feel , yes we are human and as humans we all make mistakes. It is how and if we correct those mistakes is what counts. Quote
Vanilla Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 It will SO be worth it! Good Luck. Quote
