  1. Good info Jag.....lot's of lawyers I noticed as well.
  2. I was reading the article featuring some potential candidates to fill the vacany left by Elder Perry's passing and I must say, highly educated is either a requirement or coincedence. All of the brethren mentioned were very educated....no hard scrabble fisher men in that particulr grouping. When is the last time an Apostle was called that wasn't educated beyond high school? Who was it? I don't think it matters and I will sustain whomever is called. Any thoughts on why less educated men are not called to the Apostleship? (not suggesting one hasn't or couldn't be called)
  3. The OP states that he had quit for 80 + days and was baptized in January...it is now May 29 (day of posting), so, it sounds to me like maybe he has been smoking again. My post isn't a judgement, it is merely clarifying that IF he or anyne else smokes it could keep them from the sacrament and from a Temple recommend.
  4. When you say member in good standing....maybe you should clarify. Not keeping the word of wsdom can keep you from taking the sacrament and from holding a Temple recommend.
  5. The officer could have chosen better language to be sure....everything else including drawing his weapon briefly was appropriate given the situation. If we all lived in Mayberry then all officers could either not wear a gun or keep the bullet in the front pocket. That didn't look like Mayberry to me....
  6. Looks like the officer was offered up as a sacrifice to the "black lives matter" protest that appeared.
  7. Not suggesting we do anything...but u asked why I care....that is why. Prayer would be a great place to begin.....
  8. It is absolutely a commandment from Christ himself that we love our neighbor as ourselves. As his disciples and as one who holds the Holy Priesthood of God....I must care. We will be held accountable for how we exercised the keys, power and authority granted us in this life. I care because it harms Heavenly Father's children and the example it sets to a very impressionable and lost people will serve to lead them farther away from Christ and the Gospel. If it were your sister or brother....you would care. Jenner is ....our brother and those he influences are our sisters and our brothers.
  9. Well...it is a thread on a forum, so, I am commenting. :-) Secondly, because seeing people destroy there lives and in so doing help others to do the same is troublesome.

  11. Love and understanding is not holding up an obvious sick person as a hero to the rest of society. We make judgments all the time and I am certain the Lord would have us judge between right and wrong and what Jenner (he...folks, not she) is doing is wrong on multiple levels.
  12. Mirkwood....those posts really don't fit the narrative that the media leftists and other dupes so easily swallow. Why I daresay that those posts were planted in order to justify yet more police abuse by a racist out of control cop. A cop....who resigned today and like Darren Wilson may never work in law enforcement again. Just more human debris strown by the media....that is never held accountable for the garbage they allege is news.
  13. Funny how accepting people are of Mr. Jenner's very obvious mental illness and even call him a hero for giving completely over to the illness. Don't see that happen with other forms of mental illness. The physicians, so called, that perform the disfiguring surgeries on Jenner and others should have their medical licenses revoked and should be hauled into court and prosecuted.
  14. Last June...June 20th to be precise at about 5:30 A.M, I had a massive heart attack and went into cardiac arrest in the E.R. The doctor and medical team were able to bring me back after a couple minutes or so....thankfully. As I lay on the table in horrible pain, I felt my spirit leaving my body. I told my wife I was sorry and was dying and then looked around the room and said I am going...and off I went. I also saw...me....as I "rushed" back into my body. For the next several minutes my wife said I kept asking what had happened to the music and as they rolled me to the cath lab, I was very much at peace and thought only of the music. Thankfully the cardiologist, who was working frantically, was able to open the blocked artery. He told me I had maybe 10 minutes left to live after they revived me. My spirit left my body. DId it go to Paradise? Dunno. I think somewhere in between as it wasn't my time.
  15. There is another video showing the fight at the pool by the trespassers...guess that doesn't really matter. I bet "the resident cop bashers" could have handled those poor little innocent children so much better. Some on this forum are so predictable...I knew this story would be on here with the predictable bashers. All of those bashing the cops, would have likely got your back sides kicked by those punks that absolutely would not follow any direction from the cop. The cops didn't crash the party as the title of this thread states. The police were called by the pool manangement because trespassers jumped the fence and crashed the party. Lot's more to this story....but don't let facts get in the way.
  16. The Fox news format seems to work pretty doggone well as it is the most watched news network for ....14 years? The lefties call it Faux News, maybe that is why it is so watched because even the left watches it. Me? I watch CNN for entertainment and get the hard, honest no-spin news from Rachel Maddow and Chris Hayes....( I know one of a very modest number and shrinking group of folks) There is no such thing as news anymore....it is all editoralizing and debate. The format is designed for that to happen and while the lib may have briefly jumped out of his jersey, that is petty rare. No $$ if we are all "me too". The conservaytive position resonates with the majority of Americans, that is why Fox is more popular than all of the other networks combined. I suspect the Fox host (or guest) like most of the Fox audience and probably the majority of Americans are just repulsed by all things Muslim and the way our President and the left kow tows to them. The attack outweighs ands overshadows the conversation as to whether Geller was dumb for holding the event or not. The real conversation should be not whether what she did was rude etc, but, how easily provoked to violence some claiming Islam as their religion seem to be.
  17. I think continuing to describes one's self as being sexually attracted to someone of the same sex while married to someone of the opposite sex is wrong.....don't you? Being gay is after all based on a desire to have sex with someone of the same sex. Despite the best efforts of many who claim otherwise, in the end ....that is what it is.
  18. Accept that God doesn't have problems with the autistic or artistic, but he does with homosexuality, which is really what "gay" describes. I would feel differently if he described himself as once having had homosexual tendencies and had overcome them through Christ's Atonement. I am admittidly closed minded when it comes to these issues and will likely never change.
  19. I struggle to understand how someone who is allegedly a devout Latter Day Saint can describe themselves as gay. Further, how does a woman marry a man that continues to label himself as such. IMO....it marginalizes the Atonement and states pretty loudly to me that Christ's Atonement cannot overcome all of our weakness. If I had committed adultery and still had intimate desires for women other than my wife ( and was actively struggling to overcome them) I would not describe myself as an adulterer. Surely that is a profound weakness for many men and women and as powerful as same sex attraction, yet it can be overcome and not seen as a descriptor unless one is engaging physically in this type of behavior. I believe that homosexual sex is a gross transgression and a perversion and a sickness of the mind. Blogs like this are less about "courage" as described by some of those that commented and more about perpetuation of falsehood and lies. The Adversary of our souls must be over joyed by the acceptance of homosexuality as normal, loving and just as valid as heterosexual relationships. Sadly, many in the church are drawn into believing that we shouldn't vote or encourage civil law based on our moral view point. Of course we should and have always done so and anyone that truly understands the Gospel plan of salvation would never want to see something as evil as SS marriage seen as normal and the law of the land. Why of why would we want to help our lost brothers and sisters continue to be lost and ultimately lead others astray for perhaps generations to come. The genie is out of the bottle now and it is not going back in. Choose wisely where you stand and with whom you stand. We will without question be held accountable for the keys, power and authority granted us in this life and also for our thoughts and deeds and those things which we supported.
  20. They will probably have a really sweet rainbow knot you can earn and a LGBT merit badge too!!
  21. The concept does not trouble me, it just struck me as an odd description.
  22. Yeah...ok, I agree he has teeth, just not physical ones. Gnashing is to grind and that would /could not occur with a being that is spirit...imo. I think the phrase is used to describe the incredible anger satan felt at being rejected in his exchange with Moses.
  23. I have always thought the description in this oassage was a tad confusing. "And it came to pass that Satan cried with a loud voice, with weeping, and wailing, and gnashing of teeth; and he departed hence, even from the presence of Moses, that he beheld him not." Anyone else? I have pretty much decided that this is just figurative and not reality as Satan doesn't have teeth to gnash. Other conclusions?
