  1. Hi Everyone, A bit of history... A couple years ago my my wife left me. Blah blah blah. She is inactive now and I endulged deeper into the church and temple attendence. I met a girl on LDS Singles and the rest is history. We both have temple recommends and have been married a year this November. We met with our Bishop a couple months ago about the process for us to be sealed in the temple. He said he would look into it. Well he didn't. After about 6 weeks I asked him what he has learned and he told me nothing and asked if I would just contact the Stake Pres secretary and get an appointment with him. Well I said ok but haven't done it yet. So that is where I need the advice.... I'm pretty sure the Stake Pres will tell us to start the process with our bishop. I don't want to waste our Stake Pres time for him to tell us to see our bishop who already told us to see our Stake Pres. Can anybody give me a little heads up on the process, how to get started and how to handle this little road block respectfully? Thanks, Bobby
  2. I totally despise the word, "Nasty". I don't know why, just an ichy word. I think the phrase, "It is what it is" is dumb. It is what it is? No kidding?
  3. Mark Martin? You serious? That old Duffer? He will need someone to pull the walker away from his car after he climbs in. In fact I heard his is the only Nascar that has a family sedan type door to get in cause he can't climb in the window. Ok, all kidding aside I am thinking Carl Edwards. He was dominant last year at the end of the season and was winning everything but just could not close the gap of points in the chase. So with that.... Carl Edwards. Thats my pick.
  4. Generally any team playing the Steelers is my favorite team. GO CARDS! That beings said the the way all my teams did during the college bowl games this year you would probably make some money if you put it down on the Steelers.
  5. Boy its good to be home. Two weeks!! The doctors say I made an amazing recovery at the asylum after that disheartening Oklahoma defeat at the hands of the Ga Ga Gat.... Ok (I still can't say it.) Anyway, life goes on. Now that College football is over and the Superbowl is upon us I wondered what sports everyone likes to follow? I always fall into a lull after the Superbowl for a few weeks. I like to watch... College Football College basketball only during the tournament Pro Football only at playoffs NBA Basketball All Star Game then mildly follow till playoffs then I watch Pro cycling, ie, Tour d' France Nascar (mostly superspeedway races, Talladega, Daytona) AMA Superbike Racing (Visited Miller Motorsports Park in Utah last year for Superbike races. Brother lives in Stansbury Park)

    Go Missouri

Alright! The Big 12 is now 1-0. At present O State is beating Oregon. Lets hope they can put Oregon to bed and we can be 2-0. I'm pretty sure Texas can handle OSU and Texas Tech can handle Ole Miss. Then the gimme is Oklahoma over the Florida Tators.
  7. To the Lakers after they are handed a good hiney blisterin' today... "When whoever's in New Englands through with you, and Boston finds better things to do..." Thats the lyrics to my favorite song today. GO CELTS!!

    Golf

Penalty Flag on Bytor2112!! This board is clearly marked "SPORTS" and yet you post a thread about... Golf.
  10. Kyra beat me to it but I agree... the best solution is the DVR. Not only do you record the shows that you want to watch later that he or she may not like but you can record the shows that you both like to watch and then when you sit down together at the TV just pull up the DVR recorded list and pick a show that you both like. Problem solved. Happy TV'n.

    Lakers

Oh my, Dr. T!!!! The dark side is indeed the Lakers. Everyone knows that, even Pam. I feel strong I will never give in to the Fakers, oops did I say that out loud? I mean the Lakers.
  12. Welcome aboard from this newbie to the new newbie.. :)
  13. Thanks Miztrniceguy. I have a couple furry fellows currently living free of charge under my roof and have been for years. Deadbeats. They pretty much know the rules though and don't bother our bedroom door at night. So anyway back to my question. I'm a little surprised at this moment that I have had 28 views of this thread but nobody really had an answer. Golly I didn't think it was that hard of a question. Now I'm a litte unnerved about posting the Blackberry question.
  14. Yes I have heard the same about Notre Dame games. I try to be a Notre Dame fan, I wanna be but they are making it very hard right now. They have a program steeped in TRADITION! No the BCS isn't fair. Everyone knows it, everyone hates it except.... the fat cats on the bowl commitees. I looked at your profile Palerider. Very cool. Looks like you are a very rich man, and I don't mean the part about being a billionaire. :)
  15. Thanks Palerider for the Big 12 support. I kinda have a support system. I always pull for OU then Ok State then the Big 12 against all other team/conferences. The only exception to that is BYU. I always pull for BYU and hope they never play the Sooners. That would send me back into therapy. It should be a great game. I have tons of respect for Florida (and Tebow) and knew they would whoop that overated Alabama team in the SEC. But its time for Oklahoma to put up another banner. We have been ugly our last few bowl appearances.
  16. Hi. Still pretty new to the board and have been exploring around quite a bit and enjoying myself. I have a few questions that I would like to ask but not really sure which forum to ask it on. General Discussion? Advice? Anyway the questions are just goofy "How do I" stuff on my Blackberry. Is there a specific forum I should be posting those things on? Thanks
  17. C'mon now... I know there has to be a couple Sooner fans out there. Sam Bradford won the Heisman last night. I am very excited for that great young man. Good moral character, great athlete. :)

    Lakers

Uuuuuh, I'm resisting.... the dark... side. Must not give in.

    Boomer Sooner

Yeah I'm new to the board but I am a long time Sooner fan. Mostly football, I barely dabble in the other sports even though I know that currently the BB Sooners are undefeated with, I think, 8 wins. Anyway, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't there a really big football game coming up?

    Lakers

Lakers? Basketball? I didn't know there was a season till after the All Star break. Thats when I start getting interested. Who's my team? Oh, uh, basically any team playing the Lakers. They are so good. That makes me dislike them more. Go Jazz, Spurs, Celtics.
  21. Thanks everyone for the welcome. Truegrits I do remember you from the other board. I also saw another name from the past... Hi Sister of Jared. Sometimes my job compels me to sit and wait and when that happens I like to play with the ole Blackberry and surf the boards. LDS.Net affords me lots of options.
  22. Hi Everyone, My name is Bobby and I live in, you guessed it, Oklahoma! I like the "forum" thing and I particiapate and several of them. That is how I happened onto this forum. I use to be on another LDS board but it fizzled out. So anyway... I have been married for 27 years to my eternal sweetie. I was just completing my 4 year stint in the Air Force at Nellis AFB, Las Vegas, Nv when we met. She just graduated from high school and was about to run off to college. Well, um, I changed all that. We were married in the St. George temple and blah blah blah we had three wonderful daughters and now three wonderful grandchildren and they are all the light of our lives. My testimony is cemented in the principles of the eternal family. My family is quite simply EVERYTHING!! Heavenly Father is wise and loving. I am grateful to him for my family. As I said I participate in several forums. That leads us to my hobby. Motorcycling. I have a Honda Goldwing and love to ride. I ride alone, I ride with friends. I ride with my wifey, I ride for 35 minutes, or all day or all weekend. Its all good! Ok here is the funny part... Riding over the back country highways or in the mountains, just slowly twisting and turning and taking in the beautiful countryside for me, is a spiritual experience! The feeling I get is so, so, so warm and good, its like the Holy Ghost testifying to me. I have a website dedicated to my motorcycling adventures and I have pictures and stories I have written about my rides. One particular story that might be of interest is called "Fall Ride to Missouri" because I ride to and visit the site of Hauns Mill. Anyway if you like you can visit my site at OklahomaWing My lovely bride is a high school psycology teacher and loves her kids and her job. She always comes home and tells me funny stories about the kids. SHE IS SIMPLY AWESOME! Okay enough. Anxious to jump in on some fun interesting discussions. See ya on the boards. Bobby
