  1. You can always come here for encouragement. You can talk to me too if you want.
  2. Doctrines and covenants...it's a book of revelations given primarily to js
  3. He is quoting from modern revelation. It can be found in D&C somewhere but i'll have to find it
  4. Reason Number 394 why I don't watch the news
  5. "As a non-LDS child, I did dream of a nice wedding.... as a LDS adult, I now dream of a temple marriage. How priorities change when you can see the bigger picture. " Me too...I didn't join until after I was married so I had that dream too. But it got dashed real quick when no one could help pay for the wedding and we were broke. So we had our bishop marry us (I was still taking the discuissions ) and had cake (that my visiting teacher made for free) and punch (courtesy of the RS). I bought my dress and flowers and looking back I wish I had got a simplier dress. So, yeah.
  6. So that's what it means...salvation requirements will never change...I never saw it that way before...... Still doesn't explain the rules chaging on other things though
  7. yes i am...too much has changed in the church...and it's not like when the law of moses was fullfilled...no rhyme or reason to it
  8. I guess that eliminate you then...
  9. I am woman..hear em ROAR!!!!! Question....now I was not married originally in the temple but many women here are or are planning for that....so.....if you plan on getting married in the temple, how much planning and dreaming is there really.....it's pretty straight forward no decorations, no food, simple dress anyone wanna expand on that. And we are discouraged to have a reception afterwards so don't feed into that planning. According to the prophets it makes a mockery of the ceremony to have a party afterward.... Anyone care to step up on that one?
  10. Not paticularily
  11. I'm sorry you feel that way...this man was what brought my husband back to the church bc it gave him hope that there are still people that can think and use their brains and not stand up in a robot voice and say "I know the church is true..." Judge them by their fruits...he is a good man and does good works. Again, I'm sorry you feel that way. But as for me and my house he is a breath of fresh air.
  12. Okay I am really struggling to have faith here. I guess you could say that I used to have the faith of a child....all believing, all knowing, all trusting. Now I feel that faith been shaken as I realize that our leaders do make mistakes, are not perfect, give bad advise, etc. I have also been pondering the mysteries of the Lord and why he would allow pologamy, not give blacks the priesthood, etc and if all this "revelation" was just shortcomings on man's part. But at the same time it is said that the Lord will not allow the church to be led astray. So I don't know. Anyway, I cam across this yesterday (yes, I'm behind!) and it just jumped out at me....It's Mormon Chapter 9 verse 9 and 10 in paticualar but the whole cahpter really. To save time I won't type it all here, but what do you all think of thi sin relation to what I said above?
  13. i love it!! Haa Haa!!!
  14. I won't see it but only bc my kids won' t sit though it and we're broke all the time
  15. I think that we all need to remember not to judge. I myself would love to have more kids but with my medical issues it would not be fair to bring more kids into the world. Children need their parents to be loving and kind and I am barely that now...so for me more kids would be selfish... Also what about those families that simply cannot afford many kids. When you live paycheck to paycheck you cannot provide for 9 kids...i'm sorry but unless you go on welfare or seek the church's help all tine for some it is not possible.....doesn't the church also teach us to be self reliant? If you have already fullfilled the commandment to replenish the earth, should you forgo the self reliant commandment just so that you can replenish it some more? I do not think that it is fair to have 9 kids jst so that they can live in poverty and mooch off the church and welfare all their life. Big families are not necessarily God's plan for everyone! We need to remember that and not judge either way!!
  16. I can't believe that this forum is dead....let's revive it everyone. We should all be banding together in this room to get strength for the world. So let's hear it!!!!
  17. I bought this book for my husband several months ago and he finally finished it. This is a huge accomplishment to say the least. So I figured if it was good enough for my hisband to finish then I would love it and I was right. This man is wonderful anyway but his book is even better. He writes the same way he talks and you feel like you are listeneing to an old friend tell you stories. he is very fresh and candid and he takes the scriptires and applies them to life in ways I had never seen an LDS person do. I watch him Sunday every week. he is the pastor at Lakewood COmmunity Church. I recommend his book and his show to everyone.
  18. not a dang thing, as usual
  19. oh dont get me wrong i really like PC he's a great guy! ← Okay...just checking!!
  20. Thank you I aprreciate your suggstions I really do. But I live in the middle of nowhere. The only thing out here is railroad tracks and sheriif's deputies. It is 20 minutes to the nearest store and an hour to the nearest hospital. We cannot even get phone service and have to cell phones. And I don't have a car during the day and my husband works 12-14 hours a day so my chances of getting out are about as good as a snowball in hell. But thank you for taking the time to reply.
  21. I for one like having him around. I am not interested in converting him. He provides some very insightful answers that make complete sense to me. I always appreciate gospel truth no matter where it comes from. So keep it up PC!!
  22. Right now I value survival...with three kids home all day and mommy dealing with depression I count my blessings if I am able to get up when they do, get them dressed, make real food and not haivng them eating crackers and donuts all day, and get them to bed on time. All this with a baby too... So I value the days that I can do all that and get through a day without screamong or crying.

  24. I just wanted to say Chaplin that I really like your answers and you seem to have a way to say things that I am thinking in such a better way that I could....I find myself in agreement with you many many times... Keep up the good work
  25. I do not agree with that theory...my dad was an abusive alcoholic and I marrid a wonderful sweet man who was able to take me to the Temple....so that theory is just that.....a theory!!!
