  1. I agree you make time as a parent for children when they are younger and it pays off later as they raise thier own children(grandchildren). And this next set of statements address the previous postings generally.. But to say that teenagers or young adults will not make choices inspite of religious training is very foolish. They do and will make choices and we as parents can not stop them only love advise and council but eventually.. as my parents would say" you make your bed and you lay in it ..meaning we are responsible for our own choices. Parents may take the resposibility away for a time by paying the cell phone bills or college but eventually when the parents stop or die or the trust fund runs out the buck stops here. This is the natural consequence and can not be stopped by bishops, parents, grandparents and even God himself seldom intervenes with natural events of our lives as this life is still a test for teenagers and young adults no matter how different the world is today.
  2. The reasoning is sound if one uses the Holy ghost as the testifier of truth tho I doubt many do anymore and just rely on the prophet as gospel and do not get a witness of the Holy Ghost of even study it out in thier simple minds and ask if it be right and see if the bosoom burns or they can not remember what they asked.
  3. All scripture is open to private interpretation is my personal belief and to add, I'm going to assume that the Bible is open to interpretation, therefore, meaning no including LDS with prophets group/church in particular has the absolute correct message or path to righteousness and, inversely, all churches are subject to falling short of the Bible's actual message and unable to guarantee a pass to heaven
  4. 1 corinthians 23:29 Taken from LDS .org 1 Corinthians 11 23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took abread: 24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in aremembrance of me. 25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26 For as often as ye eat this abread, and drink this cup, ye do bshew the Lord’s cdeath till he come. 27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this abread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. 29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh bdamnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.
  5. Let each person examine themselves before taking the sacrament.
  6. Along these same lines if we have our own worlds(JS King Follett Discourse) then do we still have the one Savior universally? If so then in our supposed worlds will there be a vision of the one atonement ora completely new one?
  7. Because my beliefs are not mormon and I do not want that confused by this man to assume that they are as it will create more confusion by others as he is a stake high councilman and has influence over many.
  8. I was told to take these kind of issues to the bishop by the bishop which I have done
  9. I would agree spirits are around us both good and evil(I have tried Oija board pre LDS days and can testify of it) however since I left LDS (honorable resignation no excommunication)I still keep away from these boards.
  10. If a day in the Lord is 10000 years this timeline is messed up for the metsosoic era and times of the dinosaur which is why I dislike trying to define the timeline of things but I keep the faith and the glass is still half full.
  11. yes but when I was a member in a BYU ward the bread was stale and the water was awful!
  12. A 10 minute interview for me no such inquisition here. Like I said I resigned and was not excommunicated.Lets not change the facts as they exist, I have all the documentation and witnesses to back this up,lets not rewrite the history to satisfy our ego guys come on. I was a RM and left the church after 24 years and temple marraige(still married civil wise just the temple marraige is over obviously) because my beliefs changed end of story.
  13. No Idea! It takes all of 3 weeks to headquarters and I did not even state my reasons why in my letter . I can see why this is wasted time for those in the church. Unless the church wants those unbelievers on record or that individual thinks the spirit that posesses them in this life will magically change in the next.
