  1. Is it a forged Temple Recommend? -No, of course it isn't! I am sure someone will know.
  2. Ooh, no! Can't have Canadian drugs imported into America! No, that's a baaad thing. Very bad, indeed! Why? 'Cos Big Pharma (the US drugs industry) tells Mr Bush that this is so! And lower profits for Big Pharma means less money available for bribes. Oh, sorry! Did I say bribes? Of course, I meant to say legitimate campaign donations, of course!
  3. So... he has to either wear old underwear or get a friend to buy them for him. Oh. OK. But... surely his friend would not be able to buy them for him, as that would be aiding him in obtaining the TGs even though the LDS church believes he is not worthy enough to buy them, or even maybe not worthy enough to wear them?
  4. Surely this means that Bush Senior would be the Father of All Evil?
  5. Shaved legs in Britain? Nah. Never happens. Why? Too damp. Too cold! :) I am in Britain, btw.
  6. All I know is that the British equivalent of the Reupublicans the Conservative Party always promise "we will not raise taxes." And, every time they get in, guess what? yes. They raise taxes. Purchase tax called VAT was 8%. The Tory way of not raising it was to double it! Then they found ways of apparently decreasing income tax, whilst in reality, they increased it. Republicans and Tories are government by a crooked street magican. By the time you realise the little sleeze has stole your watch, and your trousers, it's too late, as he has gone o to the next mark.
  7. Could you please say what problems you have have with No Man Knows My History? It seemed a well-researched, well-written book to me. Though I do recall that back when I was a very young Mormon it was mentioned in hushed tones and the author's name was worse than mud. Though strange to say nobody who criticised it (this was in England) had even seen a copy, let alone read it! :) But, gosh! We were told in no uncertain terms about what we were to think of it and the author!
  8. But surely, nobody could be as stupid as Dan Quayle? I mean, he was so stupid that besides him, George W. Bush is merely an idiot!
  9. SRM you would, then, have evidence that Albanes was wrong and lying? I'd be very interested to see what your evidence is for that claim. Of course, other sources do relate the Lucy Mack Smith praise of her son for being able to relate stories about the Aboriginal inhabitants of the area in which the family lived. For example, I think No Man Knows My History mentions this. Unless you have problems with NMKMH, too?
  10. But all this debate still doesn't change the fact that these so-called quotes from Kerry are either out-and-out fakes or were from Dan Quayle. And he was a Republican, wasn't he?
  11. And, of course, it is a well known fact (sic) that anyone who wrote anything critical of the claims of or about Joseph Smith must have been wrong. Why? Well... because they just are, see?
  12. Nope! Sorry, Marsha. But these are not real John Kerry quotes. But then, some Bush quotes re not real, either! I suggest you visit WWW.Snopes.com and then search for Kerry. :)
  13. The Bush income was only $500,000? Yeah. Right. Sure.
  14. I don't think the B team (Bush and Blair) lied. I think they so badly wanted to go after Saddam that they allowed normal standards to slip at little. Well, slip a lot, really...
  15. http://www.irr.org/mit/Early-Mormon-Docume...nts-review.html ://http://www.irr.org/mit/Early-Mormon...ts-review.html This is another link to the same material.
  16. Well, that's an idea worth thinking of.
  17. I do recall that the only problem in a marriage regarding hardcore pornography was way back before Internet porn. The husband hated the stuff. Couldn't stand for it to be in the house, even, or so he said. But he used to have to buy some hardcore porn magazines and videos, all the same. Why? Because his wife absolutely loved the stuff, but was not "brave" enough to go to a porn shop and buy it herself. And that's a true story. Mind you, the marriage did, eventually, break up. That was caused by her finding out that he was gay.
  18. But, Snow the implication in what Bush has said is that Kerry shouldn't have believed him! What reason would Kerry have had for not believing his President? Or is Bush so well known for his lies that maybe Kerry should have just expected him to be telling a lie?
  19. There's this: "Mormonism begins with Lucy Mack, mother of the prophet Joseph Smith. In her dictated memoir, readers will detect the same seeds of religious fervor and frontier idiom that characterized her son's writings and sermons." That's at Signature Books. http://www.signaturebooks.com/lucy.htm is the link. Is this what you mean?
  20. I think the "B" team (Bush and Blair) really very badly messed things up. If only they had said: "We believe that Sadam is cocking a snook at the International community. We have to deal with him now." The French, Germans and Russians marginalised themselves by being caught with their fingers in the till. ("Oh? You mean those International sanctions applied to us, as well as foreigners? ) But instead of building up the case for Sadam to be removed because of what he WAS doing, they built up a case on what he WASNT doing! Whilst it was true Sadam had used WMD in the past, it seems probable that he no longer had them. Destroyed? Or sold off to foreign powers? We may never know...
  21. But if you commit adultery in your heart, and that is as bad as committing adultery in the flesh, surely then the logic of that is to say: "Well, might as well go the whole hog and really commit adultery! I mean... that can't be right? Can it? Surely, if one commits adultery in the heart, but rejects the acctual consumation of that adultery as a sin, then... isn't that a good thing? Or not?
  22. I was Matt over there, too. Multiple IDs give me a headache! The only reason advice is given by untrained people here is that people here were asked for it.
  23. Yes, I heard that, too. Was it in No Man Knows My History, perhaps? I think it was mean of the Methodists. Aren't the meant to forgive people, after all? What would the history of American religion have been if Joseph Smith had become a leading member of the Methodist Church?
  24. Snow, you allege it to be a false claim. Therefore, you believe that you already know the answer. You presume that anyone who points out that Joseph Smith may well have been a member of the Methodist Church, or who may have attempted to join the Methodist Church, is making a false claim. That's not true. Let's see. If someone said "That Snow comes from Australia," that might not be a false claim. It may well be an erroneous claim, but not false. Just mistaken. Therefore to suggest that the possiblity that Joseph Smith joined or attempted to join the Methodist Church is a false claim is wrong. It is possible. He may have. Therefore the claim cannot be false. It might, however, be in error. Which is not the same thing. He learned something of Methodism, he then learned something of Freemsonry, and used what he had learnt to build something else, something new, and different. Is Mormonism better than Methodism and Freemasonary? Or just different?
  25. Oh, yeah! That's right! There was even that clown who trolled using his client's computer systems!!
