    Divisional Playoffs

I think you are correct. It wouldn't surprise me really to see any of the remaining teams make it all the way. Especially with the teams that were so dominant (Minnesota, New Orleans, Indy), stumbling down the stretch the way they did. Can they turn it back on? We'll see. I like the way the Cowboys are playing.....if they could just cut their penalties like in half and not give the other team 150 yards/game.
  5. You know it is a major misconception that all sushi is raw fish. Much of it is cooked. Sushi refers to the rice preparation with which the fish is served. If it is just fish, without the rice, then it is Sashimi. Just off the top of my head, the shrimp, lobster, eel, some egg.....are cooked.....oh and some of the salmon is smoked. Anyway, there are plenty of Sushi options that aren't "raw fish". Of course some of the very best ones are!
  6. Yeah, I was going to say the same thing......YUM!!
  7. daenvgiell arrested for disturbing the peace by holding a dance recital in the middle of the most major intersection in town.....forced to teach kangaroos how to dance as punishment
  8. Speaking of "tastes of cultures".....I just realized I am REALLY jonesing for some SUSHI!! RIGHT NOW!! I NEED IT!! Anybody want to go? Anybody know the best sushi place in the KC area?
  9. Ok, I had to Google "Shemar" just to figure out who this guy was. Whatever. This thread has nothing for me. Moving along now. Enjoy Pam.....and Wingnut.

LOL....Ok. I guess we both need therapy for our vindictiveness (see my previous post about New York teams). You don't have to like them........just because they have FIVE Superbowl rings!!..... Ok, so I'm a Cowboys fan and I'm obligated to pick them....no matter what. I still feel pretty good about it. It's probably just the false sense of security followed by disappointing loss. I do think that the Vikings are the biggest hurdle left for them. They've shown they can dominate New Orleans. Of course the Cardinals are playing awfully well of late. Oh well, I guess we'll see.

    Divisional Playoffs

Ok, this time I'll go out on a limb and predict the winners before the games are played. How long is the "edit" option available? I'll take the Saints, Colts, Cowboys and Chargers. I'd like to actually take the Jets, but there's no way I'm gonna do that in Pam's thread.....bad kharma......lol. I'd actually prefer for the Chargers to win anyway. I had a strong western upbringing. My father taught me not to lie, cheat, steal and, under no circumstances whatsoever, don't ever root for any team from New York!! When the Yankees played the Mets in the World Series, I figured the best possible outcome was for the team buses to wreck in the parking lot, injuring enough players to cancel the World Series. Otherwise, one of those teams would have to win. Anyway, I digress.

    Wild Card Weekend

Well, ya! Want me to pick the scores too? I can do the same thing for next week's games as long as the edit option is open long enough!

    Wild Card Weekend

Ok, I'm gonna make my picks. I'm gonna take the Jets, Ravens, Cowboys, and Cardinals.
  15. Oh, ok, I guess I was thinking they were serious. It is quite funny then......lol
  16. LOL....Oh, my!!! That is hilarious. Here's a couple of my favorites from the site: Really?? Wow, instant credibility!! Now why couldn't I come up with a mission statement this effective?! Ummm....perhaps their content is somewhat dated?? Oh well, I guess freedom of speech is a right whether intellect is present or not.
  17. What was this thread about again?
  18. It's really pretty sad that our society has got us to this point. Every day I see/hear of law firms advertising if you've ever taken this, done that, whatever it may be to call them and they'll get you money. It's those kind of lawyers and their pursuit of the almighty dollar, devoid of reasonable ethics, that get us to the point where we're to scared of a lawsuit to help anybody. How do those people sleep at night?
  19. I was just telling a co-worker(who's from Florida) about a trip I took to Florida. It was when I was in college and a friend talked me into spending the Christmas Break there with him (his family was there). We went to Orlando. The first day we were there it SNOWED!! IN FLORIDA!!! It snowed about an inch.....shut the whole state down. It was hilarious how unprepared they were for it. Also people put their sprinklers out, against trees or whatever, to create icicles like that was some kind of novelty. (I guess it is in Florida). Anyway, we spent a week there and it never got above 45. I can say that Disneyworld and Epcot Center are not near as much fun when it's that cool (cool not cold). But we had a good time anyway. That's my trip to Florida story. Anybody want to go to the Bahamas with me? I'd like to see the beaches with snow on them!!
  20. I'm expecting to be informed I don't qualify for any "free" medical care and now I am required to maintain a certain level of coverage at an extremely inflated rate so I can pay for others' medical coverage. In addition I will be informed that if I don't maintain this "coverage" I will be fined and potentially charged with crimes. Sadly, I think most people that think they're gonna get "free" medical coverage, who have never paid for medical insurance before, are going to find the same thing. And instead of getting "free" care, they're going to get the opportunity to take an additional $500 out of their monthly budget for something they haven't paid in the past. Hmmm......perhaps I'm a little pessimistic about the whole program.
  21. You mean they still have movie theaters in this day of Netflix/Blockbuster videos delivered to your door to keep as long as you want, like 2 weeks after they're released (ok, that's an exaggeration, but they're out fast). Hmmmm....who'd have thought??!! I haven't been to a movie theater for ages and likely never will again. I don't need the sticky floors, gum under the seats, expensive tickets, more expensive refreshments, etc. I can enjoy the movie in the luxury of my home for a fraction of the cost on my 52" TV. Why in the world would I go to a movie theater??!! Did you know you can make the equivalent of a movie theater's $6 popcorn for about $.25 at home? And for the $4 drink you can get a 12-pack. And for the $4 candy bar you could eat yourself into a sugar coma! Who dug this old thread back up anyway?
  22. You're not accounting for additional emergency services payed by the taxpayer or insurance payer that are required if you don't wear a seatbelt. It could be the difference between an accident report and an ambulance ride. Also, if your insurance covers your medical bills, other insurance payers, through their premiums, are really footing the bill. Now with so-called health-care reform, taxpayers will be paying for others' medical bills. So, although the physical damage would be your own, the financial damage is very much shared with plenty of people. Note, I am NOT standing on a soapbox for wearing seatbelts. I am as guilty as anybody else in that matter. I'm simply providing another perspective.
  23. Exactly what I thought. There are also plenty of people that meet their so-called standards that are disgusted by their brash egos. EXACTLY!!
  24. I enjoyed that game as much as any game this bowl season. I thought that was two fantastic teams playing very well. If people thought, because of the low score, that it wasn't a good game, then I say they just don't appreciate great football. I thought both teams (defenses especially) played great. I think either of them would've given the likes of Florida, Texas, or Alabama a run for their money last night with a great chance of winning those matchups. I think it's time the MWC had an automatic BCS bid (4-1 this bowl season with the only loss the TCU loss). Unfortunately the WAC is too weak across the board for the same consideration. Perhaps Boise St. should consider petitioning to join the PAC 10 or MWC??!! They are a consistently great football program.
  25. Wow, thank-you for sharing your thoughts and feelings. I simply don't have answers to many of your questions, but let me reply by taking a stab at some of the issues. First, you taught me more in a single post than many instructors at institutes of higher learning have taught me in semesters of formal education. Your intellect and caring are apparent and significant. I thank you very much for what you have provided me. I can only ask for your forgiveness when we treat you in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable. I can only speak for myself, but I feel the majority of others would say the same, when I say we certainly don't intend to make you feel threatened, isolated, unwelcome, etc. Forgive our ignorance and failure to understand and accomodate your situation. Please know that you are not only wanted and welcome, but in fact you are very much needed within the church, within society. People like you make a significant difference in helping the rest of us understand the trials and tribulations you face. And you have done so very eloquently here. Please continue to help us understand. We need your perspective. There is no doubt in my mind that there is a place for you in God's kingdom as well as here on earth. I don't claim to know what God's plan for your condition is for eternal life, but I certainly don't believe you would be abandoning who you are for another person in your place. I can't imagine that as a possibility. Please have faith that God has a plan and that whatever that is, it will be in your best interests and not offensive to you. Please continue to reach out and help us understand your perspective and your feelings. We need this. We need you. I know from what you have written that this is a tremendous challenge to you, but if you touch others the way you have obviously touched us here on this forum, there is such tremendous value in your efforts. I applaud your courage and your willingness to share. I know I can't answer a lot of your questions. I simply hope that I can help you feel that you do belong. You are very much welcome. You are very much needed. Please take that and my admiration for your message. I hope it helps you find even a little bit of the acceptance you are looking for. I hope I can provide even a little of what you have provided me. Thank-you.
