Me... I was unfortunate to be born after my one grandma had already passed a way... and I was only 5 when my other grandma died... I really missed out...

You have made several great points Foreverafter! Pure knowledge comes through Christ alone-- otherwise one can receive knowledge--but it can vanish away or cause us to, (spiritually speaking).

I'm sorry if I have upset you Gwen. I didn't know samantics were going to be an issue. Yes Satan does give us thoughts as the Holy Ghost. Some will take this as personal revelation because they were not at the moment worthy to discern. I don't believe we are actually at odds on this one. I have both witnessed Christ and Satan in the temple. I have experienced the Lord audiably speaking to me which has left me filled with love/peace/power and I have had Satan call my name out in a voice sounding like rushing waters and I could discern its source because it was empty-- it left no peace or power and it didn't come filled with love... it was cold and empty. All within the temple walls.

Explain or define --truly ignorant-- through something besides attacking.

Actually satan can go where anyone who is unworthy goes... Someone holding a recommend who isn't worthy can and has indeed brought satan into the temple with him. Satan can and does give personal revelation... it just isn't acompanied by light/peace/love.

Your insights make a lot of sense Dove. I must also remind everyone here that -- we are suffering from the fall. We aren't in heaven. Things here are meant to torment and test us. Considering that we are in a fallen state living among all others in a fallen state, we see that we are also receiving ___ NOT for Adams transgression___ our just due for falling ourselves. The 'innocent' reallly aren't ... they are fallen or in a fallen state here in this life... Now there is an interesting scripture that clarifies where we are and where we are going-- If we claim the atonement. D&C 93: 38 38 Every spirit of man was innocent in the beginning; and God having redeemed man from the fall, men became again, in their infant state, innocent before God. This scripture speaks of THE BEGINNING... Not the beginning of this earth life-- but in the beginning before the fall. It is easier to understand God when you understand the big picture and the order and place in which we are at...

Yes there are references.. like the one describing the gifts of the spirit in the D&C or the one that states if one prophesys and it comes to pass, he is a prophet/true prophet ... in the OT... then there is the reference from JS which states that all should be prophets.. and of course logic...

You are right-- we can't just blurt out stuff that isn't for the masses... after all we know that if the Lord wanted the massees to know enmass-- he would have it announced over the pulpit on Sunday having handed it down through THE prophet.

She went about trying to convert others to what she felt she knew... I would agree with her actually because every time I go to the temple I am given such knowledge.

Not all messages that don't exactly click with the 'general' church doctrine comes from the devil or evil.. For instance-- prophets aren't always leaders... they just have been given the gift of prophecy. yet some get so carried away with this gift they begin to believe they are more important than the church will give them credence for... I personally have become friends or been associated with many in this catagory-- Lafferty ... was our ward elders quorum president, two others are still our friends though excommunicated... and another went mentally insane because what he knew he couldn't speak of... another just goes around looking for converts to his own form of doctrine.. Yet I know two who are perfectly oriented with their knowledge they are prophets and are totally active in the church, knowledable in the doctrine and do what the Lord has ask of them without asking for any great recognition... they are simple primary worker and home teacher. I know of them because they are family members. They didn't go about telling everyone of their special experience/visitation -- until some twenty years later when they felt they should share it with me....

I agree to most of what you said ... but I believe we should read about the history of the church so as to comprehend what some are aggressively trying to hurt the church with. It never hurts to be informed.. Also, taking all to the Lord.. is excellent advance.

um.. wait a minute... the ignorant divorce, cancel their sealing and get away with it in the Lord's eyes? Doesn't this suggest that the Lord allows people to get away with something untoward?

In the end... whatever the church allows-- it is all monitored by the Lord. He will decide where He will allow such.

I hate when someone comes along and uses twists and turns to try and make a poster look bad, and the doctrine of the LDS church look corrupt... The simplicity of the pure gospel must endure on light, truth, and LOVE. Otherwise the twisted minds darkened with apostasy and hate will make it very difficult for those who Love Christ and His gospel and His church to enjoy what they have.

I believe Righteousness is more than just being celestial kind of person. I believe righteousness comes only through Christ and rebirth.

Interesting thread... I have found that sometimes what we receive isn't complete and can mislead us if we get too overly enamoured with how important it might makes us feel... I have seen many get lost because they were told that they were prophets... if they had waited and listened to what the Lord would add to this information, they would find that the kind of prophet they are being called is as common as a cold... Many are called-- few are chosen.
