  1. That's fine; I understand. I'm just worried that by coming before an all Holy God with any claim, you might be robbing God of His glory. I thought I would just point out that by doing a "good deed", that would put you even further in debt to God since it is He that enables you. So the more good we do, the more we thank Him.
  2. Wait, Christ doesn't make up the difference. Christ did it all.
  3. Thank you for all your replies! I had a born again experience and it didn't really have to do with baptism, but it's great to hear everyones ideas on this!
  4. I agree with your conclusion! I will bring nothing before God but my faith in Christ. I am nothing without Him. Christ is our righteousness! Good answer...
  5. Ohh I see. I'll assume you are talking about us now, not Adam and Eve. Yes, I believe body and spirit are created together, not before.
  6. I was wondering if anyone out there extremely Fears going before God after you die to give a full account of your life. I do. I'm not talking about the ones who are semi-afraid, or just a little... I'm talking about a serious fear of this day. Any thoughts on this? Just think about it. Every little word we've ever said, every word we should have said and didn't. Even our thought life! Imagine if someone played your thought life for the past week on a big screen for everyone in Church to see. That's scary.
  7. to make or bring into existence something new
  8. No, He didn't mean in our image literally, since "God is spirit and must be worshiped in spirit." God also said we must be conformed to His image, so image would mean that He created man with spiritual similarities (love, moral character, emotions, logic, etc). Also, not sure if I would agree that taking mans rib was symbolism. God then caused a deep sleep to come over Adam and He removed one of Adams ribs. But regardless, I would agree that we were created, not born.
  9. I would like to hear what it means to people when Jesus says that we are born the first time, but must also be "born again". Feel free to share your testimony of being "born again."
  10. I think your answer is found in Genesis 1:27 and also Genesis 2:22 "So God created man in his own image.." "Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man.." It seems clear that the human race was created, not born. He made man from the dust of the Earth and woman from mans rib.
  11. Sermon Jam's are a new trend which music is played to the preaching and proclaiming of God's Word. Enjoy!
  12. This is a wonderful and powerful song by Kari Jobe. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Praise Jesus!
  13. I came across this and felt I had to chime in... There’s really no legitimate scholar these days that deny Jesus is a historic figure that walked on this earth about 2000 years ago. There are over 42 sources within about 150 years after Jesus’ death which mention his existence and record many events of his life. Jesus gave us evidence by displaying numerous miracles to hundreds of eye witnesses. Let me attempt to answer or give my two cents to the original thread here. Now as far as the resurrection goes, keep this in mind. (Now think about this...) Take a Muslim; he can die for his religion and NOT know it's a lie until it's too late. Now take the 12 apostles; they saw Jesus die. If you saw your leader who claimed to be Lord die, you would probably hide as they did. But would you die for this cause after you saw the leader who claimed divinity die and then never rise from the dead??? probably not because you would KNOW first hand it was a lie since He claimed He would rise in 3 days... But these apostles DID die for the cause, pretty much every one of them. I think this is logical evidence that they saw Jesus after He rose from the dead. Somehow they knew it wasn't a lie. A man will NOT die for what they believe is a lie. The apostles were totally convinced Jesus wasn't lying once He rose from the dead. I probably could have restated that better, but hopefully you get the concept. Are you referring to Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent deity?
