  1. So that's him! Cute! You have good taste, girl!
  2. Nice your ex throws you a bone! I work in a BSA council office, namely the Trapper Trails council. I kind of do everything, though I was a receptionist after my teaching contract (I've a degree in elementary education) wasn't renewed, but got promoted after two weeks. Let's see... what I do. I handle registrations, I design charts, I track things... I do a lot. Currently cleaning out the program database.
  3. What are you talking about? Everyone knows that if you have self-control you are not going along with your desires and dreams. My daddy probably has Aspergers. He has all of the symptoms. But he's in his 50s with a master's degree, so it's a bit late to really look into it.
  4. 87 works!!! It's a respectable grade. Sounds like a difficult exam by the sound of the average.
  5. Pam, I blame you for me figuring out after reading two of your posts here so don't act so dismayed.
  6. I'm with SaintMichael. There are a lot of wicked people who should not be parents, but quite often this stuff is completely unintentional, which makes it even sadder.
  7. True. Then again, I don't have enough information to hunt you down on Facebook. I once friended a friend from another forum going by an accidental posting and the fact I knew her university.
  8. I don't have a single Facebook friend here.
  9. Since when has that stopped true love?
  10. I thus separate this to: First three sentences to Pam, final sentence to Dravin and another participant of the forum.
  11. Heck, I didn't mean it that way! But now that Pam has pointed out the typing confusion, I think I might just have to leave the post that way. But are we saying Pam isn't good enough for Dravin?
  12. So that's it. Totally understand. I hate it when there's a sticky key, don't you? Once more, congratulations to you both!
  13. How long have you been waiting to say that? And if this is blatant hinting...
  14. Being engaged is fun! Congratuations!!!!
  15. I would LIKE to blame my cat's issues on the fact that he was a stray my friend's husband found wounded in a ditch with a bullet in his side, that my cat therefore has post-traumatic stress, but... you're probably right.
  16. I see what you mean. I guess I saw it as "Hey, he did something respectable and he happens to be a Mormon". I wasn't connecting the two things in my mind like you were, and I see where you're coming from.
  17. Shall contact the temple to see if siblings aren't running into another scheduled group. I think it's because when our grandmother went through we were bored out of our minds waiting. We went shopping, went to Wendy's, walked around, and still wound up waiting for awhile. They want to be "at" the temple while I'm receiving my endowments (which will be two days before the wedding) without going crazy.
  18. Great post. Though I'm also of the opinion that perhaps BoM writers didn't always know what they were talking about and could have possibly even hyperbolized their numbers.
  19. I know, right? I'm imagining it an incident where the Christianity clashed with prior pagan beliefs and that was the contradicting result. Though I did see a fictional novel that used the concept and made it sound very much a legitimate punishment... too bad it was fantasy fiction and not scripture. Ah, man! If that's how I was in wordly high school, I was number 6.
  20. Are we making assumptions on what Browning was thinking when he invented his firearms?
  21. When I receive my endowments in a few weeks, my younger brothers and sisters were thinking about doing baptisms for the dead at the same time. None of us can think of a reason against it, but I do have to wonder if temple workers frown upon a family coming in and some running off to do this while other run off to do that.
  22. That is a beautiful temple. For years I thought the Mexico City was the most beautiful, but then I saw the Newport temple and fell in love with that one.
  23. 1. You should decide whether or not you believe in God before you even begin to worry about religion. Work on your relationship with/belief in God first before you start working on other things. That is the most important part of religion, and the rest can't exist without it. Without faith, religion is pretty much a waste of perfectly good time. 2. See #1 and it's not wrong that you disagree, but it might affect the type of Mormon you are. However, there's a difference between what a lot of Mormons say they believe and the reasoning of why they believe that way.
  24. According to some mythology (I want to say Christian Norse, but I don't think that's right, but somewhere in Europe) elves were the third choice. They decided to "stay out of it" and go with whoever won. Since they didn't exactly rebel, they weren't exactly damned, but banished to earth without souls. Then there's my dear mother, who says she was off reading a book somewhere and oblivious to the whole war.
  25. John Browning... I was looking at a monument dedicated to him just last week.
