I don't fast every fast Sunday and I feel a little guilty about it. The reasons I don't fast sometimes, is because sometimes I don't have anything to pray for at times (I know that there is plenty to pray for but sometimes I can't think of anything). Also, sometimes I just get too hungry! That being said, Am I breaking a commandment by not fasting on fast Sunday? If so, I would like to better reform myself. Also, I still pay a fast offering when I don't fast because I know it helps the needy. Is it wrong to pay a fast offering without the fast?

Obamacare is 100% certifiably unconstitutional. I knew it from the day it was passed. You can't "force" people to buy private health insurance when they were not in the market to begin with. What people don't acknowledge is this.. the Obamacare system was actually written by the insurance companies to raise profit.. how? By requiring people to buy health insurance that were not in the market, the insurance industry increases their market by using the government (force). When Obamacare was passed, the stocks for all the health insurance companies skyrocketed.. they didn't go down.. because they knew they would be able to increase profits. I think a lot of people like to oversimplify things to socialism vs. capitalism. When the system doesn't really work like that. Big corporations, banks, and other entities like to use government regulations and laws to grant them the competitive advantage. The US system is not capitalism but "crony capitalism" is what is a better description.

It just seems a little to coincidental that all these countries explode all at once. That being said, I know that there is anger from the rising food prices worldwide. I think there is something to the "secret combinations" talked about in the Book of Mormon. There is a reason that we were told about these secret combinations that brought about the downfall of the Nephites. I believe we now have modern forms of secret combinations acting to bring about a destruction of freedom worldwide and loot the world at the same time.

I have been looking more into this "Muslim Brotherhood" and I believe we are not getting the accurate narrative on them. It appears as though they have had links to British Intelligence and that they could be using this "crisis" to intentionally destabilize the Middle East. This idea of the "radical muslims" taking over the Middle East fits perfectly with the clash of civilizations that is being fomented. I do believe that there is a lot underneath the surface that we are not being told by the media...

Well, I know this isn't the answer you want to hear but are you willing to let it go? Was it wrong for the high councilman to reveal confidential info? Yes, of course it was... but, how easy would it be for you and your wife to forgive and forget? This situation reminds of of this parable Jesus gave, "23¶Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants. 24And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents. 25But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. 26The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. 27Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt. 28But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest. 29And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. 30And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt. 31So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done. 32Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me: 33Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee? 34And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. 35So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses." Matt 18:23-35

The Atonement covers the spiritual consequences of sin but doesn't mean it covers all the temporal consequences of sin. An example of this would be a a man who commits adultery. He can be forgiven if he repents but it doesn't mean his marriage will be saved. What I am trying to say is.. that there is usually collateral damage with serious sin. I have committed sin in my life and was disfellowshipped from the church for it... the bishop kept my confidence as far as I know but I still know a lot of ward members know about it... they see that I can't say prayers, give talks, partake of the sacrament.. it is embarrassing to me.. but I realize that I am the one that sinned. I have to be able to deal with a little discomfort to be able to fully repent and be forgiven.

I don't think the problem is "democracy." The real question is this, is the United States willing to accept another people democratically electing something not in line with US interests? The US continues to support many dictators worldwide because they align themselves with US interests BUT abuse their people. Perfect examples can be all of the meddling down in South America to help support military dictatorships even though the people wanted to elect people with more socialist tendencies. Do we really support a peoples' right to choose their own government or is it just lip service?

My understanding of the build up of Zion on the Earth is this. There is democracy. The people will vote for judges over 10's, 50's, 100's etc. but those judges will have to be confirmed by the Chief Executive. Heaven is democratic in the sense that free agency is eternal. We, as saints, will have to understand the mind and will of God through the Holy Ghost to be able to choose wisely.

I am sorry to have to say this but it reminds of Jacob saying, "Wherefore, it burdeneth my soul that I should be constrained, because of the strict commandment which I have received from God, to admonish you according to your crimes, to enlarge the wounds of those who are already wounded, instead of consoling and healing their wounds; and those who have not been wounded, instead of feasting upon the pleasing word of God have daggers placed to pierce their souls and wound their delicate minds." First of all, you are not going to be thinking clearly with the burden of sin on you. Satan is going to try and convince you that what you did was ...somewhat justified..all things considered.... It was not justified in anyway.. You need to tell your wife right away.. regardless of the consequences.. then, you need to go into the Bishop (with your wife) and tell him everything. After this, you will be able to see things more clearly as the atonement begins to take hold in your life. Then, you may want to consider counseling and trying to gain the forgiveness of your wife. Please, the earlier you do this, the sooner the burden will be lifted. The truth will set you free even if you deal with heavy consequences. Your relationship with the other woman must end immediately if you are to try and salvage what is left of your life. Our Heavenly Father loves you and will work with you through this difficult time. Please, do the right thing in your life. I don't mean to preach to the choir, but, what you did was extremely serious and needs to be ended soon or the ramifications will be much worse in the future.

Closest I ever served to Montgomery is when I served in Selma, AL and that was near the end of my mission in 2004. Montgomery was within my mission boundaries though.

Well, I am thinking we are in for a wild ride in the next 2 years. I think the middle east crisis that is unfolding is a bell weather of things to come to the United States. I think we are going to see some major food inflation and the unemployment situation not improve in the country either. And I believe, like the scriptures say, that we will continue to see more natural disasters. Unless the gentiles in this nation repent, I don't see much hope for the country (as a whole). But the Lord will continue to bless his saints as they remain obedient and exercise faith in him.

I think the best thing is to let it go and forget about it. Obviously, you are letting this get in front of your testimony. No offense, but you committed sin.. and there was some fall out from that decision to sin. Remember, this would not have been an issue if no sin was committed in the first place. Forgiveness will help you simply move on and get over the situation. Also, it will be long forgotten with the passage of time.

There will be VOID in your life if you continue in sin and knowingly violate the Law of Chastity. Believe me, I UNDERSTAND... I was disfellowshipped for a time because of my transgressions. The Lord loves you and wants you to follow him. He cannot override you free agency though. I promise that you will be so much happier if you stop what you are doing and repent. The Lord if willing to forgive all those who repent. Word of advice: Marry the man or kick him to the curb. He is causing you to backslide in eternal progression.

LOL I know... I have been a little pessimistic with world events lately.

I had a difficult experience with my mission as well. After my mission, I went inactive for a few years and struggled with trying to find the reason I went. I can tell you that the Lord has a reason for everything he does. He has a perfect plan and if you allow him to mold you, he will make you a better person.. if you want to. I am currently active and have a stronger testimony then ever of our Savior and his divine mission. The Lord answered my prayers on the question I had about my mission.. he wanted to teach me and mold me into a stronger person. The Lord molded me with my mission and gave me the pattern of righteous living so I would know how to do it when I came back to the church years later. Stay strong. The Lord will provide the answers you seek with patience.
