To this day I'm not really sure what motivated my ex to divorce me after 12 years and 2 kids. She went on a vacation to her mom's house with the kids, and never came back. The closest thing she gave for an explanation was "you weren't there for me". Not very specific. Anybody could say that phrase about anybody. I did everything humanly and inhumanly possible to try to save the marriage. Now in hindsight I'm so so so so so glad she did it! Glad my prayers were not answered. She got involved with another guy during the marriage (actually 2 other guys) but I didnt really care, I figured she would fall back in love with me. Again thanks for unanswered prayers!!! Sometimes you don't know how bad you had it till she's gone. I'm currently remarried and waiting on a clearance. So my conclusion is that divorce is the greatest thing that can ever happen to a person and I will always be grateful the Lord didn't listen to my prayers when I asked him to save the marriage.

There are 3 states where you don't need an "officiator" to get married. There is one where you dont need an "officiator" or even a single witness. I live in that state. There is not a single witness to my marriage, except my wife. You just drop the signed license in the mail, and you are legally wed in CO. $30 total. Just an option. It's called "self witness" in Colorado.

ya, that's why I said "in the kid's shoes". It's just interesting that the covenant can have an effect (on the kid) when it wasn't kept.

My ex wife never applied for a sealing cancellation but is now 8 1/2 months pregnant with another guy. Unless something changes I don't think she ever will apply for a cancellation either. So will the child be born in the covenant and if so, does that even mean anything? I'm trying to put myself in the kid's shoes here.
