  1. This is all very very remarkable. But I REALLY like what she says at the end. I think I am in love..... SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. - Shayna Richardson was making her first solo skydiving jump when she had trouble with her parachutes and, while falling at about 50 mph, hit face first in a parking lot. Although badly hurt, she survived — and doctors treating her injuries discovered she was pregnant. Four surgeries and two months later, Richardson said she and the fetus are doing fine. "Just this last week we went and saw the doctor and we've got arms, we've got legs. We've got a full face. The baby is moving around just fine. The heart rate looks good. So not only did God save me but he spared this baby," she said. Richardson, 21, of Joplin, Mo., was skydiving in Siloam Springs on Oct. 9 when her main parachute failed. "I heard a snap and I started spinning and I didn't know why. I didn't know what to do to fix it. I didn't know how to make it stop," Richardson told Fort Smith, Ark., television station KFSM. She cut away her primary chute so her reserve could deploy, but it didn't open all the way. She spun out of control, heading straight for the asphalt below. "At the end I said, 'I'm going to die. I'm going to hit the ground. I'm going to die,'" she said. "I don't remember it. I don't remember hitting the ground. I don't remember the impact or anything that came with it."..... Richardson said her due date is June 25. She plans to make her next parachute jump in August. The entire article and link..... http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051213/ap_on_...ydiver_s_plunge
  2. Ugh...I would if I thought there was hope for this country, but I have given up all hope. Other than local elections I am pretty much the same way anymore, a pox on both their houses.....
  3. This is why I was only able to come up with the compromise (which I mentioned several pages ago) of giving the prisoner the choice of life or death...as long as it is life without parole. Any thoughts? I like it. I always knew Budhists were much nicer than Christians. :)
  4. Scott was telling Outshined that if he was illegally selling drugs at 89 years of age, then either receiving money or going to a jail cell would be a win/win situation, to which Outshined responded by telling Scott that if he was illegally selling drugs to others, then it would be better for Scott to go to a jail cell than to receive the money from selling those drugs, to which Scott replied by saying that he agreed. And vice-versa.
  5. So are you saying that you believe all people who can do something better than you are equally supreme? Didn't say that. *** If not, you would be saying than one or more of those “people” are more supreme than the others. Either way, you do believe in God. **** That is the logical fallacy of circular reasoning. But it's kinda fun....
  6. So basically, everyone's right and everyone's wrong here. Well I am no Socrates..... but I think I've been saying somewhat the samething. And yes I read the whole thing. I think you were trying to punish me!
  7. I'm simply saying that you do believe in a supreme being, whatever your understanding of that supreme being may be. I believe in billions of them because there are literally billions of people who can do 'something' better than me.
  8. But since they dont respect human life there lives should not be respeced. Which becomes a circle. If they don't repsect human life, we kill them showing we don't respect human life either. And even though it isn't the same.... I cn say the same thing when I mention I am pro-choice. It may be different but it is still a lack of respect for human life. I guess we are just a not very nice, and violent, society is all. I'll tell you what..... the next time I hear about our government giving lectures on human rights to another nation I am gonna chuckle. Who are we to lecture anybody.
  9. Think not of life and children first, and of justice afterwards, but of justice first, that you may be justified before the princes of the world below. Excellent. The above summarizes really well....
  10. Looks like nobody's interested in Socrates anymore.... Not first thing in the morning! I'll get to it!!
  11. Well it's been fun but I've got to get some pest control done this morning. I'm bringing the kid..... she is teaching me American History. Later...
  12. I do have a chainsaw....
  13. Exactly Congratualtions. You actually said something clever. Yo da' man....
  14. No kidding. Perhaps there is a prize... You get half. I may be a heathen beyond redemption... but I am an honest one.
  15. In that situation, the cell is better for you. I agree.
  16. And yet you devote so much time (on more than one board of which I am aware) to following LDS members around arguing... Nah, you guys will chase me off before long. I am terribly out numbered. I have noticed Godless Heathens are not really welcome on religious boards. I spend most of my board time on a wrestling board. But they have a wrestling non-issues section.... there I get to argue with evangelicals and other fundamentalist sorts. That and other topics. It's a fun board and way busier than this one. Those fundamentalist though.... they are way meaner than are the LDS.... present company excepted. I am doing a good job padding my post count with you though....
  17. Well, that pretty much sums up your posts, doesn't it? Huh?
  18. Well if you could guarantee that the drugs you sold wouldn't end up in the local middle school (as they did here recently), you'd have an argument for staying out of jail. Otherwise, you're one more person selling drugs and knowingly breaking the law... Perfect then...... I either get the money, or the cell. Which is what my 89 self needed. It is win/win for me.
  19. I don't have to be a "barameter" of anything to see how you've posted here. And the complex I see is on your side of the monitor... No, now we've been over this.... if I were a god I would fix my shoulder and Reni's mommy would come back home. Shoulder hurts like crazy and Reni's mom is crazy. So much for that....
  20. Actually, that is just your personal twist on what God has told us is right. No mention of "butt-kissing" or "acting like conservative Christians" in scripture or LDS theology; that is simply your misconception Actually, I am familiar with the theology. Now if y'all want to believe in such a God, and think this religion is the way to God, I don't have an issue with it.... unless it crosses over into my world. I am simply saying I wouldn't want to spend time in such a place, nor raise a child in such a religion. The values don't match. If it all works for you then keep it. It wouldn't/doesn't work for me.
  21. A statement of fact; rather than discuss the issue, you choose to make inaccurate and immature statements about members here and avoid rational posts. So you are the ultimate barameter of such things? Got a bit of a god complex going on, eh?
  22. Certailny; the police get another drug dealer off the streets and you get a warm cell. Which if I am 89, and out of money, is exactly what I need. It's perfect and free. As an 89 year old with a walker on oxygen I ain't going far.
  23. If you're selling drugs illegally, making you stop is a bright side. I agree. That's why I called it a win/win situation.
  24. If we're agreeing that your assertions about the people here are baseless and immature, then of course! Reason seems a bit much to ask of your posts. We'll be waiting breathlessly for an intelligent post rather than your usual blind attacks. So would this be like an attack on me. Or just another example of Christian love?
  25. AKA, if you do what is right... Well if that is what this posited God considers right, then I don't want to go to be with that god. It's a win/win. He, and folks like you, don't want folks like me, and vice-versa. It's all good.
