  1. Wow Onyx!! They say trouble comes in 3s so watch out!! The person below me has been with this site since it was first conceived.
  2. Hehe Heather! I think you might want to alter the wording of that sentence a little (emphasis added by me)
  3. I'm really sorry to hear that Onyx.. I really would like to go to Idaho!! The person below me is having a Sunday Roast Dinner.
  4. Hi SkyWishes...I hope you continue to feel safe here, and enjoy posting :)
  5. Hello, E. Scrooge here. What makes you think they will all be positive experiences? And if they aren't, are you going to include them as well? Elphaba Scrooge Elphaba, all things we do in life have costs and benefits -- education, marriage, children, and yes, spiritual choices. Overall spirituality seems to have a very positive effect on people psychologically and physiologically (lower depression, stronger families, longer longevity, etc.). So since you chose the Scrooge metaphor I can only hope that, like Scrooge, you will find happiness in a spiritual re-awakening as well -- and while I really love debating you I hope you know that debate is on a different plane than actual emotion and I hope you don't ever take any jabs personally because you really seem to be the kind of person I'd want to hang out with if possible. Fiannan is contemplating his list of potential additional wives again!!! Only Joking!! You know that don't you Fiannan
  6. Oooh, Elphie! You trouble maker you!!! LOL :)

  8. I first came to this site because I had attended the LDS church back in 1978 till 1982 and was curious to know how the LDS 'online' community conversed with each other and with non-LDS who visited the site. I've remained here because it is a very interesting message board, not only for Religion but for other topics too...I enjoy reading the threads, even tho I might not post on those which I feel I cannot give a 'worthy' reply to, and I've made some friends here, who I think about when I'm not visiting the site. I've also used the site as a way of exploring the LDS beliefs, and to see how my attitude towards them has altered or not over the last 25 years.
  9. I tried to learn it many years ago..although I preferred French at school and have tried Urdu more recently. The person below me is slightly worried about Christmas expenses this year!!
  10. I must admit that I've been thinking I ought to, since they took the time to bring it to me when I had my slight brainstorming the other month..I'm wondering if I will see it in a different light to when I last read any of it in my teens...to be honest, I can't remember if I read it all back then, but I do recall having that and the D&C at school with me daily, and tucking myself away in a corner to read them, so I might have done. I like the idea of following the reading schedule too, I'm more likely to succeed that way...I'm just wondering what the total page count is now..
  11. Sounds like an interesting challenge, and an ideal opportunity for me to contemplate reading my copy that the Missionaries left me a few weeks ago...I'll let you know if I manage to do it..

  20. Donny Osmond - Close Every Door I've pinched this from Elphie's signature... I believe this is one of the most beautiful, saddest songs I've ever heard...I recall hearing that Andrew Lloyd Webber had the Jewish POWs in mind when he wrote the lyrics to this..particularly in the verse where he says 'Just give me a number instead of a name..' Simply wonderful.. Close every door to me, Hide all the world from me Bar all the windows And shut out the light Do what you want with me, Hate me and laugh at me Darken my daytime And toture my night If my life were important I Would ask will I live or die But I know the answers lie Far from this world Close every door to me, Keep those I love from me Children of Israel Are never alone For I know I shall find My own peace of mind For I have been promised A land of my own Children Close every door to me, Hide all the world from me Bar all the windows And shut out the light Joseph Just give me a number Instead of my name Forget all about me And let me decay I do not matter, I'm only one person Destroy me completely Then throw me away If my life were important I Would ask will I live or die But I know the answers lie Far from this world Joseph, Ensemble & Children Close every door to me, Keep those I love from me Children of Israel Are never alone For we know we shall find Our own peace of mind For we have been promised A land of our own' Lyrics: Close every door
