Who ever said I believe the LDS church is the true church? The church has power. They could look into the social security laws or have someone look into it and get the ball rolling to get a few laws changed.

Guess I will just ignore you then as it seems you always have to have the last word. :):)

No you may not quote me. As far as my statement in the other thread I have changed my mind. I will not join the Church until they bend to my situation.

I guess I believe in a world of no consequences for any action when it comes to religion. Make your own fate.

That's the beauty of the LDS teachings. No one goes to a lake of fire. You can be as bad as you want.

Forcing someone to make a choice is slavery. Or shall we say dictatorship.

Let's pretend you are a ruler over a great many people. These people can not see you or talk to you but they believe in you. You tell them through someone - a prophet or such - that they have free will. So they are allowed to choose as long as they make the choice YOU want them to make. You punish them if they choose a choice that you didn't want them to choose. That makes no sense. They should be allowed to make any decision they want. You can't force people to choose the way YOU want things. If there is only the choice you want them to make there is no other choice therefore no TRUE free will. Get it now?

I would accept the mark of the beast. I like to eat. LDS doctrine states that there is no hell unless you are really bad so if I am to end up in a lower kingdom why not take the mark?

Maybe all these things I have said or believe are just a justification due to the fact I do not want to do what is asked of me and I enjoy being defiant but I know I am wrong and will have to answer for it later.

I'm fine. Thanks. Pam - kids themselves do not have to live the way the parent teaches. For example I grew up in a Christain home with no drinking yet I drink now. Ever watch the Matrix? It's like that.

But I already answered your question. I already stated that people should be punished for crimes. However things like casual drinking, smoking a cigarette or drinking tea should be allowed. Someone telling you how to live is a form of slavery. (Palerider: bite me.)

I do not think God should punish us if we do not choose to obey him or make a choice that he does not like. I think that is basically slavery. I choose to make my own way. Yes you should be punished for things like murder but not things like drinking a beer.

I'll explain later. It's not that easy.
